    USB sticks in HDX

In the meantime, I've used these 32GB USB sticks: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010HWCEHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have not had the same issues with my 2 ea. HDX displays not booting properly when they are plugged into the USB ports. Andre'

    Skyview Wish List

Give us the ability to name, enter and store our favorite, personally selected radio frequencies (i.e. Emergency-121.5, Chat-123.45, Air-Air-122.75, etc.) and save them under the Com Radio menu (adding a tab or 2nd page?), so we have the ability to push a button to download into the radio...

    fuel contents on a taildragger

I did the same. On my RV-6, I placed a digital level on the canopy longeron's, raised the tail until I saw level (0.1°!) and then calibrated the tanks. When completed, I saw a difference of over 3 galls. per tank between level flight (tail raised) and with the tail resting on the ground. Due to...

    Top Bar Touch Not Working

I'm not aware of any way to turn off the top touch bar function but have you tried recalibrating the touch screen by going into the Setup menu? Setup Menu>Local Display Setup>Touch Setup>Touch Test Andre'

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

Dynon's states their SV-NET wiring is Tefzel Grade: https://dynonstore.com/#!/SV-NET-30CP-Network-Cable/p/52526471/category=13788247

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

To follow up, I called SteinAir and talked to Nick in the shop. He said they do not sell or have access to unterminated SV-NET cable by the foot - they buy the partially constructed cables (10', 20', 30') from Dynon and cut to length as needed. He also said they sometimes make their own. Each...

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

I did check SteinAir's website before posting on this forum but didn't find anything close. As Dynon uses this cable to transmit/receive data over 2 pair of wires, they twist the 9 wires for noise/interference reduction. Aircraft Spruce doesn't even sell this cable by the foot but they will...

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

Thank you Bill - I did call Dynon and they don't sell the bulk cable. However, they do sell a 10' SV-NET cable with only 1 end terminated with crimped pins and connector, so that is what I ordered. A bit pricey at $60! Andre'

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

I want to build my own custom length SV-NET cables to connect my Skyview components. Does anyone know the Belden equivalent for the 9 conductor Tefzel wire cable Dynon uses for their prebuilt SV-NET cables? I would like to keep the same wire color codes and gauge sizes Dynon uses. Andre'

Compass Calibration: Looking for Alternate Method

According to Jeff, "GPS provides position information only". He also said specifically "GPS does not provide ground-track", so I'm, assuming it derives this info from the magnetometer. That's how I thought the system operated when I first performed my ground compass calibration but Jeff...

Compass Calibration: Looking for Alternate Method

Lon - Based on this discussion, I called Dynon today and again spoke with Jeff in tech support. He confirmed what you stated above for #1, "The Heading Indicator is driven by the Magnetometer". He then said "The GPS provides position only and not the ground track". So my calibration procedure...

Compass Calibration: Looking for Alternate Method

Lon - To answer your question - no, you cannot offset the Dynon as you described. I recently calibrated my ADAHRS unit and used the method described by JohnAJohnson. With the engine running, I slowly moved & turned my plane until the Dynon EFIS heading indicated 360°, then stopped and pressed...

    Pitot Static Line Coupling

Rob - I used the following products from Cleveland Aircraft Tool. They are inexpensive, seem to make a solid connection (they passed my pitot/static line checks) and also have the ability to disconnect/reconnect fairly easily: https://www.cleavelandtool.com/collections/all/static-system Andre'

I'm not sure if you've taken a look at my uploaded file but it contains a lot more than just checklists - a lot of the info is reference. Checklist made easily and uploaded to HDX

Remember, Skyview requires a .txt file using the UTF-8 Character Encoding format for the checklist file to work properly. Please review chapter 30 of the Skyview Installation manual for further instructions and clarification.
