    Dynon Skyview interface board

There is some confusion here. Both of my Skyview screens have a db37 connector on the back. The OP s board is a distribution board that takes one 37 pin connector and distributes it to two Skyview screens avoiding the need to splice wires together for the serial ports etc. It is not a network...

    Dynon Skyview interface board

Not quite sure how a 25 pin hub will work with a Skyview system that used a DB37 37 pin main connector.

    A/P initial setup

Think you might need to configure the network if all is as it should be electrically. Go to Setup/system setup/Skyview network setup and carry out a network configuration. This will go and look for all the devices attached to the network. As far as I am aware the network is not plug and play.

    Circuit breakers

I leave the autopilot power turned on all the time so I guess that will reduce the chance of an internal breakage. I have never flown an aircraft yet where you have to completely power off the autopilot for any particular phase of flight. I am happy to follow Dynons advice , installation manual...

    Circuit breakers

I have used a Tyco W31 switch circuit breaker which combines both functions. Seems to do the job ok.

    WiFi capabilities

Hi I wasn’t aware of the Slingshot feature but it appears it still only copies to the USB stick. Aviation databases and charts can also be downloaded over Wi-Fi from some third-party apps – such as Seattle Avionics FlyQ – directly to a USB drive inserted in SkyView display. This eliminates the...

You are not wrong the file loading option only looks at the USB unless I have missed something to. flight plans can be uploaded by wifi but they are initiated from the iPad.

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

Jake my last CHT probe experience was an erratic CHT reading. I have replaced 3 probes in the past. I transferred the probe to another cylinder and the problem transferred. I then swapped to the OLC connector based on other’s recommendation and the problem was resolved. In the last 40 hours...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

My thoughts were that it was not the actual spade connector itself but the crimp on to the sensor wire that was causing the issue. I don’t know if the types of wire and crimp involved could be causing the issue but it seems strange that with all the spade connectors used in the automotive...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

+1 from me for the olc connectors. I was having constant problems with CHT readings. I bought new probes but the problems continued. I replaced the spade connectors with the olc connectors and no problems since.

    Exit and backspace HDX

It’s not too bad a process particularly if you are still covered by the warrant. I am in NZ and have been involved in the return / repair of three units.

Plate info on primary and secondary displays

No I am not referring to the Dynon supplied databases although I am not sure if the databases I refer to below are now supplied to US customers by Dynon. The databases you buy from an external provider ,in my case AvPlan, are in two parts. There are the regularly updated navigation and obstacle...

Plate info on primary and secondary displays

The synchronising database message only refers to the internally stored databases NAV and OBS and they are synchronised via the Ethernet cable so the other USB stick does not come into this process.

Plate info on primary and secondary displays

Do you have a USB with the plates in each screen. I don’t think the plates get shared between screens and you need a USB in each screen.
