Tom the lines show up when there is runway information coded by AvPlan , Seattle or whoever provides your airfield database. You can see if your airfield has this coded by looking at the RWY info data on it.

Before you go changing you panel I would say there is a wiring issue looking at the video. If it were my panel I would be looking at the network cables going into the AP panel. Something is breaking contact. just my thoughts

For all of the devices connected to the serial ports you will need to connect the to the new screen as well as the old as described in the installation manual. The audio will need to be connected to both screens as well.

The wires from the position sensors go to the EMS. Have a look in the installation manual it describes the process in detail. Page 7-67.

Hi Maurice when I do my updates I always do it one screen at a time. I just power one on at a time ,update it then turn it off and do the other one. It has worked well for me so far.

Reading the installation manual on using the Dynon screens during aircraft construction it states that a battery charger should be connected to the battery and states what amperage you will require. Page 9-4 and 9-5.

Bruce that is exactly the problem I experience. I have just carried out the procedure I described in post #2 so hopefully it will not occur again, possibly until the next software update.

Vans seem to supply a standard wiring harness that is built for all options, at least that is what we have received on the last two RV12 builds. So you might find there are plugs waiting for you behind the panel for a knob panel.

This sounds like the issue I struck when I first loaded v16. The fix from Dynon was to physically disconnect the knob panel from the network. Reboot the screen and do a network reconfiguration.
