Connecting D-100 and GPS 251 -> missing wind data

So re-rereading your first post, I think you're right. Pin 22 is the serial RX pin on the EFIS, and the gray/orange is the tx on the GPS. TX from the GPS does go to the RX on the EFIS, so your understanding is correct. Double-check to be sure.

Connecting D-100 and GPS 251 -> missing wind data

Actually, on further review, I think your TX and RX wires are flipped. The instructions we wrote with EAA have the best description of this connection - see https://www.eaa.org/en/eaa/aviation-communities-and-interests/pilot-resources/eaa-stc-low-cost-avionics . Where did you get your wiring...

    Backup Network Error

Actually, it looks like Van's has a service bulletin for their wiring harness / box interface. Check out https://www.vansaircraft.com/public/service-rv12.htm ...specifically Aug. 31, 2012 - Wiring change for Skyview

    Backup Network Error

I can't speak to its exact construction off the top of my head, but I'd probably start by tracing all of the wires to see if there's a discontinuity there.

    "reverse" fuel calibration

It isn't in a straightforward manner. Once you have a stored calibration, you can go in and edit it, either in the SkyView interface or by manually exporting / importing configuration files (the latter of which isn't hard to understand if you're a techie type person.) You could perhaps use those...

Connecting D-100 and GPS 251 -> missing wind data

Not an update thing. If you were using a GPS previously, the GPS-251 should work. The voltage is what we expect to see there (and is good, it shouldn't match the battery). Next step would be to get in touch with our support team at 425-402-0433 or support at dynonavionics dot com, and we might...

    Backup Network Error

Basically, that means that those wires (that go to pins 4/8 on the D9 connector) are likely not connected or run to your AP servos. Is this an upgrade from a D100-based system by any chance? There are two pairs of SkyView Network wires that need to be connected. The D10/D100 series only had one...

    Auto Airport Diagram

I'm a bit stumped, I admit. What version of SkyView software are you on? Also, how long have you pressed/held for? It takes about 1-2 seconds before it brings up the chart, and it needs to be the knob that controls (zooms/pans) the map.

Trying to free up a serial port

You can switch only the data lines, as you suggest. You won't hurt it by having power continuously on.

Trying to free up a serial port

Right now you can't split the SV-GPS-2020 port in half. It runs at 115200 baud, and SkyView only supports the same baud rate for both halves of a serial port even if you could split it like you can for others. You'd see a momentary loss while you switch, but your solution would basically work...

Connecting D-100 and GPS 251 -> missing wind data

So everything sounds correct there. The only last thing I'd double-check is that the GPS thinks it's a GPS-251. I don't know that I've heard of any dealers shipping the wrong part, but they look the same other than the box and product markings. You'll want to look at the actual sticker on the...

    Pink and white diagonal bars

During start-up or while in-use? If the former, not an issue if momentary. If it's happening while in use/in flight, there might be something up with your display. In that case, give our support team a call at 425-402-0433 or an email at support at dynonavonics dot com.

Is The Culture Of This Forum Supposed To Be Snarky

So it is super rare for us to moderate posts/threads here, even when the not-love is directed towards us (maybe even especially so). It's not a terribly philosophical position - it just hasn't been too necessary. Disagreements can get a touch snarky, but we try not to sanitize the converstaion...

Sunfish - no takeovers or business failures are coming anytime soon. But, if you're looking to go in another direction, get in touch with us at 425-402-0433 or support at dynonavionics dot com and we'll see what we can do to help.

    Re: SkyView software 15.2.0 PIREP?

So first, we're not going anywhere. We've hired a handful of people in the last couple months alone. We're a sub-100 person company, for reference). Our presense at Oshkosh will be expanded from the last couple years, which itself was an expansion over our previous indoor-only booth. But we...

Connecting D-100 and GPS 251 -> missing wind data

There are a few things to check. First, is the OAT still displaying? Next, is the baud rate for the serial port on the Dynon set to 9600 (or auto)? When you change the D100 to display the HSI page, what do you see above the HSI in terms of text? Is there a GPS ground speed displayed on this...

    Air Speed

On the second question, there is an INHIBIT AOA BELOW AIRSPEED option under SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > AUDIO SETUP > ANGLE OF ATTACK that should help with the low airspeed AOA annunciation. Alvin - how long has your SkyView been in use / installed? We don't believe there to be an underlying...

    Auto Airport Diagram

If you pull it up manually, is there a diagram for the airport that you're trying to see? And do you see your airplane georeferenced on it? Finally, does the center press of that joystick work properly? To test, use it to move the cursor off the airplane. Then click just click it. Does it...

    ADSB 472

So seeing occasional TIS OK, even in good ADS-B coverage areas, isn't super unexpected, as it's is the second highest priority traffic mode after ADS-B OK. To have ADS-B OK, you need to have ADS-B ground station coverage, and the ADS-B system needs to also think that there is radar coverage...

Can Someone Please Help Me Design A Contact Widget

So widgets with graphics have a black color which can be useful. That's most often used for the contact/ball style widget, or gaps in temperature ranges that are neither good or bad. There are a few other colors that are provided as well, fwiw. Alerts only trigger on red, so you can use the...
