Audio cable from Dynon to audio panel

I would like to add that just because the shield is not shown it is still the norm for all audio wiring to be shielded & as Rhino says the shield should be grounded at the Intercom/Audio panel end only, that is the generic way to do audio wiring. (as an aside - look at the Apollo manuals. they...

    GPS Problems on Dynon D1000

Hi Vincent - I should also add I don't use the dsub backshells in that situation as they would add too much weight to the antenna cable & be too bulky as well. Your feedback will be appreciated by those who may have similar issues ;)

    GPS Problems on Dynon D1000

I have seen a similar situation caused by too much handling / flexing of the cable at the base of the antenna, the particular aircraft had the dual Dynon system installed by others & had 2 x 250’s so swapping them over proved where the problem was. My solution since then, as a result of that...

    Changing N number

We pay taxes too however we have to pay extra for databases etc - free weather in will probably not happen in my lifetime :D.

D1000 to GMA 340 volume deafening.

FWIW, I never put the potentiometers for that purpose on the panel - I remotely mount them behind the panel as once I have them ‘set’ they don’t need to be changed ;) ps - you can still ‘tweak’ them later if need be.

    Changing N number

Thanks Tim - that's the difference I guess, it's automatic with FAA registered aircraft only - 'we' have to enter the Hex codes here. You guys have got it easy - free weather & mapping etc 🙂.

I updated post # 6 to make it clearer :).

    Changing N number

Not sure how it's done there - our Aviation regulator (CASA) issues the Hex code with our aircraft rego (N-Number in your case) which is specific to that rego, never generated by Dynon. I just did a 'search' & found this - "How do I find my aircraft hex code? In the US, this is easily found...

    Changing N number

Yep, change your N number in the Dynon & the Transponder Hex code that goes with the new N number ;)

    GPS for D100

Heading is all you will have with that unit - Alt Hold is a totally independent function & does not need or have any GPS input.

    GPS for D100

As it outputs NMEA 0183 & needs a 5 Volt power input, why don't you connect it ? Will not hurt the Dynon . However if you want it to 'drive' an autopilot to follow a GOTO or Fltplan then you're out of luck - that's better served using a Gps with database IMO.

It’s called out for in the install manuals😉

D1000 to GMA 340 volume deafening.

Just use a 10K Ohm ( it’s a turn potentiometer) resistor in the Dynon audio output wire & adjust the volume with it 😉

To little info here, it would help if you listed all the circumstances & what troubleshooting you have done.;)

Dynon HDX and Trutrak AP - how to increase the banking angle?

I'm having the same issue - it's a problem with the NMEA datastream from the SV, IMO. Most of the time i can see it trying to work & have had it work properly on 1 short flight.

    RPM issues on new install

150.200.250 - where did you get that info? What you need to do is set up the PPR ( Pulse Per Revolution) which should be 2 in your case.
