    Weight and Balance info

Hi Mike You have provided very little information to go on so it’s a bit difficult to give you an answer. I have found the calculator works well so I don’t think that can be the issue. All I can suggest is rechecking the basic aircraft information is correct. what type of aircraft is it what...

    ADSB out Partial warning

Here is the advice from the Trig transponder installation manual. As the ground plane is made smaller, the actual dimensions of the ground plane become more critical, and small multiples of the wavelength should be avoided, as should circles. Rectangles or squares are much less likely to...

    182L Plan

    1. Have a look at the HDX users guide page 3-10 it goes through how to set up default screens. Once you have started you can the set up whichever screen combination that suits. 2. The range of colours for your required temperatures is easily defined by you to meet your requirements but the alarm...

    Autopilot disconnect button

I can’t help think that the strange result you are getting when the button is pressed is detracting from the cause of the problem. As someone has already suggested how about wiring a temporary switch from the servo to ground and disconnect the original switch. To me it would suggest that when...

    Autopilot disconnect button

Could it be a bad earth connection. The switch to disconnect goes from the servos to ground when pressed. Perhaps find out where the ground connection is and clean it up most intermittent problems I have found have been due to earthing.

    RV12iS autopilot

Assuming you have installed the standard Vans files during setup I think you will find that the autopilot works well. If you do not like how it’s setup look on the Dynon website for the “autopilot tuning guide“ and you can go through the process to make sure it’s set up correctly for your...

    System Event 3

That’s interesting. I have just had a Sys Event 3 on my new HDX upgrade. I did assume it was something to do with the USB as I had installed the USB before I booted it up. The event occurred when I shut the screens down and the one with the USB in rebooted itself gave the system event 3 and ran...

Swapped SkyView for HDX, now AOA way off

I guess I talked about it because that was the issue. The Starting percentages etc remained the same as before and they do not control the volume only where the audio signal starts and stops relative to the yellow and red sectors on the AOA gauge. it appears the HDX audio signal output is weaker...

Swapped SkyView for HDX, now AOA way off

Look in the AUDIO SETTINGS menu you can change the starting point of the tone. Read the tiny wording at the bottom of the screen it tells you how the settings work.

Swapped SkyView for HDX, now AOA way off

I recently did the swop over to twin HDX and experienced the no audio issue with the AOA. Contacted Dynon and was advised to just try increase the AOA VOLUME setting. On the D-1000 I had it set to 45. I found that on the HDX there was no sound at all until I increased it above 50 and the setting...

What's involved in adding a second Skyview?

Vans supplies a standard loom for the RV12 which has all wiring and connectors for two screens. There is no need for hubs or anything else. If it’s the standard loom you just plug the screens in. lets not go down the track of overcomplicating everything until the OP has a look to see what he has...

What's involved in adding a second Skyview?

My advice is have a look behind the panel and see if there are connectors there for a second screen before getting too involved in what is required. oh yes i should have specified Ethernet cable in my previous post when I said network cable.

What's involved in adding a second Skyview?

With the RV12s I have been involved with using the standard supplied wiring loom the wiring is all in place for a second screen. I suspect all you will have to do is buy or make the instrument panel section with the appropriate cutout and then plug the new screen in. i don’t recall seeing the...

    Sensor File for Release 17.1

The Aithre Shield EX has a sensor life of 10 years and has three connection wires. Power ground and sensor output. Sensor output can go to any spare input on the EMS but the enhanced sensor inputs are the best apparently. Good install instructions and quick response from Aithre to fine tune...

    Sensor File for Release 17.1

I have just installed the Aithre, which is working great, and was advised by Dynon the the audio alarm you can expect is “ Engine Monitor” there is no Specific CO audio alarm built into the system.

RV12 Flap Overspeed Alert - HDX setup

Not sure you need the switch. I have installed a Ray Allen position sensor and programmed the flap positions through the calibration routine in hardware setup, I think that’s where it is. When the flap is out of the calibrated up position and speed exceeds the max flap speed I get the warning...

    Skyview system frozen/locked up

Hi i I had exactly the same issue a while back. I sent the diagnostic file into Dynon and they found it was a memory error. The solution was to reboot and it all comes back to life and has been working fine since. The longer term fix is to send it in for memory replacement I believe. Apparently...

    Aithre C0 detector

I have followed this question up with Dynon and using the sensor definition included with the latest HDX sensor file Skyview will give an “ Engine Monitor “ audio alert when the needle goes into the red.
