    Mooney Autopilot

The Aerocruze doesn't do IAS hold climbs. It climbs at an assigned rate. Also, no auto pitch trim. Not sure if the Dynon Autopilot will include that feature on the Mooneys, but on my Cardinal with Aerocruze, it is missed.

    Serial Port Six

HDX. I see references in the USER_CONFIG.dfg file to it, i.e., "ser_in_dev6=SERIAL_IN_DEVICE_NONE". Is it available anywhere?

    Skyview Wish List

Have different ranges for large and small obstructions. When setting range for obstructions to say, 20 miles, I get all the little Cell Towers, and of course the big boys too and the screen is completely cluttered with the small towers. I need to see the big towers and don't need to see the...

HDX & IFD540 - Baro Corrected Air Data

I am sending Baro Alt from my Skyview HDX (D37-8, Serial Port 3 TX, Icarus 10’, 9600), to my AXP340 Transponder for ADS-B OUT (Primary 7 (IN), Icarus, 9600), then from the AXP340 (Primary 6 (OUT), Icarus,9600) to my IFD540 (P1001-42, RS232 (IN) 3, Icarus Alt, 9600). Works great. Of course you...

    Mooney Autopilot

S-TEC has a lot of STCs for their 3100, and it rolled out at the same time (2018) as Garmin and Dynon certified autopilots. To me, it appears they certify the same aircraft model in one shot, such as every Cessna 210, or all Bonanzas. These were not all done in 2018. There have been STCs...

    Mooney Autopilot

And that is my issue. What are those other companies doing differently? Dynon, do that! And if it is FAA delays aimed at Dynon alone, let us know. I cannot ask my congressmen to spank the FAA when I am only guessing that the FAA is the problem.

    ARINC 429 Driving TruTrak Autopilot

I appreciate that but, in this case, I'm not looking to rationalize my thought process, followed by the resultant, "you should do it this way" type comments. I can change course all on my own once I have the data I seek. So yes, in some cases, I would prefer a non-response. Not an attitude...

    ARINC 429 Driving TruTrak Autopilot

These questions are irrelevant to my post. A simple "No" to my question, "Has this been tried?" would suffice, and only trumped by no response at all. I do try to answer a post when I have direct knowledge of or have successfully done what a poster has asked about. If anyone has information...

    ARINC 429 Driving TruTrak Autopilot

Can't. I'm stuck with the TT autopilot. I am doing that now. But I'd like to have the TT fly off the HDX HSI instead of the IFD540. No matter the source into the HDX, I'd like the Dynon to steer the autopilot. I know - I could put a switch in to select the autopilot's source, but that is...

    ARINC 429 Driving TruTrak Autopilot

Only one autopilot, a TruTrak. I would like the TT to fly off the HDX HSI, instead of the Avidyne IFD540. Reason is, no matter the source or type of signal (GPS or NAV), the TruTrak would follow the Dynon HSI.

    ARINC 429 Driving TruTrak Autopilot

I have an Avidyne IFD540 talking successfully to the HDX through an ARINC 429 Module. By adding a second ARINC 429 Module, could one use the HDX to drive a TruTrak autopilot directly? In addition to just GPS lateral steering, I would think this could provide ILS and VOR steering to the TruTrak...

    New D30

Because the battery backed up D10 is an attitude, altitude, and airspeed backup for the HDX and is in no way connected to the HDX, it seems it would be easy to get a field approval for any third party battery backed up certified PFD with primary attitude, altitude, and airspeed. It makes no...

Which Cessna Single Engine Piston High Wing is Next?

Thanks Rhino, but the question wasn't really directed at you, unless you're a Dynon employee.

Which Cessna Single Engine Piston High Wing is Next?

Autopilot certification. I have a 177RG (HDX, IFD540) you can use.

    Seattle Avionics 5/19 - 6/16 Data Update

I downloaded it fine on the 19th with 6.6.0.2, but it took the usual six hours or so to do it. It is agonizingly slow. I have 100mbit connectivity and a reasonably new/fast laptop. Currently downloading 26 areas (sectionals, SA Airport Diagrams, IFR Low, Approach Plates and Airport diagrams)...

    HDX Touch Intermittent

Thanks Andre. Unfortunately it didn't work. I was unable to get a touch recognized in the top 1/2" of the screen. I tried to reload the firmware but the OS checks to see if it is the same version and if so, doesn't allow it to be reloaded. Anyone know how to force the firmware to reload?

    HDX Touch Intermittent

Yesterday my HDX wouldn't recognize the Back or X buttons in the top right corner. Also, by touching the Map or Engine buttons, they would highlight, but not envoke that function. I had to close the configuration window by pushing the hard Exit button. I shut down and restarted the HDX, and...
