FWIW the last sentence is correct. Additionally I add a second ground wire from engine to airframe ground - just to be sure, never have had any ground issues using that method ;)

Whatever works for you is fine, just because it's so called 'plastic' (probably a more higher spec product than ordinary plastic, which is implied) doesn't mean it will have issues & worse off due temperature. If there is an event causing it to melt then you could have a more serious problem...

22awg is more than adequate. Another approach, to save the 'spare' serial port for later, could be to connect the E0-4 but not to the serial port & have a PLB (GPS type) as a personal backup. Much cheaper option than say the Kannad & you can use it for other activities too or carry it with you...

Opinion hasn't changed as these units are same as used in automobiles ;)

Ok, great - he has the latest rev 8-). So my last sentence is even more relevant especially as this line (as quoted from the manual) says it all "If you are using the output from a Ray Allen servo or sensor, connect per the chart below". If it was me I'd be really worried about their ability...

Did you do a network config ? Does the screen show all the Dynon items after you press 'detect' ?

I Install the Dynon Pitot tube & Controller in an outermost wing inspection panel (not sure if that's available/possible in the Velocity) - its then easy to disconnect the power/ground wires & the 2x tubes, don't understand why so many haven't done that. It's much easier then to work on the...

Sure can, just connect power to the SV (I think it should be charging at least 12.25v ) & connect the backup battery to the SV with the dedicated cable ;)

Sorry Curly, I've been preoccupied & Dynon may have been too after Sun nFun. Your last sentence - something's up here, if you see volts (4.4) on the green wires ( with sensors disconnected) that doesn't make sense.  Did you use the Dynon EMS harness ? Made any modifications to it ? Hopefully...

I'd disconnect those too, although they are isolated it doesn't prevent them from generating "noise", if any, being injected into the audio. ;)

The SV unit is a completely different box & not at all compatible.

They are a common cause of audio issues - best when troubleshooting is to disconnect everything at the beginning or one at a time to find the culprit ;)
