    v3.3 audio

Bruno As we say - no worries  ;) , I'll reply to your pm some time tomorrow as I'll be travelling earlier in the day. There is a cheaper way if you have time to experiment but I prefer to buy 'off the shelf' items, it's easier, works and saves time plus this unit will take audio from several...

    weight and balance

The Flight Planning program I use has W&B capability which I use before I get to the plane. IMO at the plane is not the time to be doing it. I'd much rather see product development on features that are more useful for in flight.  From my experience some pilots don't use what's available already...

    v3.3 audio

Steve It's probably just a lack of understanding or knowledge that's causing frustration by some like Bruno, maybe the 'tone' could be different but that can be hard to convey - totally different from those who don't/won't read the install manual first, MY pet annoyance ::) Jake J :)

    v3.3 audio

Bruno you could try one of these, http://www.fdatasystems.com/Products/AP-60/AP-60.html easy and cost effective & no panel holes to cut. no need for a separate intercom either, the instructions cover your situation. ;) PM me if you need more help with this. Jake J

    EMS spikes etc

Wally Good 'find' - note for others - the BNC connectors used on Wally's plane are the crimp type (IMO the clamp type come a distant second place) with gold plated contacts, coax is RG400. :) Jake J

    EMS spikes etc

Save yourself the effort, that will not fix the 'spike' problem IMO :) Jake J

    EMS spikes etc

Wally In the hangar IS NOT the place to test, radiation (bouncing off the metal walls) back into the system is the issue ::) Of the 28 Rv's I've done yours is the only one that has reported these 'issues'. DS - Wally also reported that the filters worked for a while but they appeared to...

    EMS spikes etc

FWIW - I've been trying to help various people with the topic issues of 'spikes' when transmitting.  Now the obvious cause is RF, but why ? All the installations I've done (including fitting the Com antenna) do not have a problem (except 1 composite aircraft) but a customer with an RV now does...

Standard is about 6 ft however you can buy them by however many feet you want from Dynon. Look in the 'store' for details. Jake J

Update on CHT & EGT jumping when I press the PTT

I agree re VP-X, a much more cost effective and neater system plus you have many other inbuilt features that you wouldn't get by just using circuit breakers AND extra panel space as the VP-X is remote mounted. Most of the installations I do now have them. ;) Jake J

Update on CHT & EGT jumping when I press the PTT

I'd strap them together as one & ground to same point as avionics - no guarantees that it will make a difference but that's what I do as it's too hard to do later in the Glasair. Hopefully you guys will have sorted it all out before I install the SV's into my Glasair ;D Jake J

    Altimeter Certification Tests

You need to 'balance' the system by connecting the static to the test box as well ;) Jake J

    Rotax 912 Oil Pressure Issue

"I don't really want to use the remote kit and mount the sender on the firewall due to another failure point being created. e.g. the hose." I understand your reluctance to remote mount the transducer however there are literally thousands of engines with transducers done this way (including...

oil pressure and fuel pressure reading low

To make sure of what you're seeing is correct, & to save money & frustration, I'd check wht you are seeing against calibrated gauges ;) I'm sure this is not your situation, only a generalised comment/observation, but too many appear not to realise that some new gauges or transducers can in...

    Building a RV6A

Hi Dannie That is the only place I've mounted them (on about 20 RV's), up high just underneath the deck at the next bulkhead aft of luggage bay panel, without any issues. HTH :) Jake J
