    SkyView 5.0 Released!

In the 5.0 release: the arcs behave like a normal arc and don't show the top of the tank empty like the fuel bar. Is there a way to make the top of the tank dynamically show black like the fuel bar?

    System Reliability

I bought my SV1000 system a few months after it was released and put a few hundred hours on it since then. Coast to coast this year. I'll have to admit I bought the system purely on the aesthetics. Call me shallow. However, it has performed flawless since I installed it. A difficult thing to...

    Fuel calibrations failing, both sides

I didn't have much change when I calibrated my fuel level (0.004 volts/litre) but my fuel gauge seems to work just fine. See the discussion on this thread. http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1330258885/10#10

    MY AIRPORT

Pocket FMS also does a good job with airport data. I started seeing grass strips on the synthetic vision when I switched from Jeppesen to PocketFMS last year. See discussion here: http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1323876496/61#61

    Intercepting & modifying serial data

It seems like a good idea but taken to the extremes I don't have enough panel space to place a knob for every input function the SV offers. It's a bit inconvenient when I forget to switch the joystick menu back to HDG or ALT after setting BARO but for the most part SV input menus are intuitive...

    RV-12, Skyview 796 install

From the schematic it looks like the SV Serial port 1 RX is open so you could use that for the extra GPS. Nothing from SV is sent to the GPS so you don't need the SV port 1 TX line to be connected to the GPS.

Displaying 2 RPM gauges - AirCam Twin Engine

That makes sense. Thanks for the tip. I'll do some experimenting with partial files.

    Checklist page

I'm one of those guys that need to adhere to a checklist or I would probably bust something or lose a passenger (Item 1: belts and canopies). In addition, the technology in my plane changes enough that I revamp the checklist every annual and sometimes tweak it between annuals. A couple of good...

    Serial Connections for Dummies

You could also connect the GPS496 TX to Skyview RX for a third GPS device. It will transmit VHF to the SL40 and NMEA to Skyview on the same TX wire. Some more ideas here: dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1338252641

Displaying 2 RPM gauges - AirCam Twin Engine

A little off topic, but when I first started hand editing the settings (.dfg), loading a partial file didn't work. I noticed on a couple of posts that you use partial files. Has this changed or are there rules for loading partial files. For instance if I wanted to change just the %20 engine page...

5.0 UPDATE warning /alert settings file

On the File menu of your browser select Save As and select your USB drive as the destination. Firefox will save it in the proper format. If you have Internet Explorer change the file extension to .dfg You can use the normal Skyview Load File to update Skyview with the new settings.

    Fuel level calibration

I think you can use any step size you want for the calibration. My tank has +/- 130 litres so I used 10 litre increments and ended up with 14 points. The procedure if I remember is: [list bull-blacksq]enter the size of the tank pour in increment, hit add button repeat until full finish by...

    Hi Res Terrain Download

The terrain download does come up with a ftp username password dialog. :-? Is this by design?

    UL260isa ??

Ground is what you want. I connected my ECU that way. Skyview puts a voltage on the line. This would be the OK (open) signal (2-5V). When there is an error the ECU grounds the wire and Skyview would see 0V, or 0-2V. This would be the ERROR (closed) signal. To use a bulb, you have to run a live...
