HDX Instal - Rc Allen Elevator Trim - Dyon display

Ok, great - he has the latest rev 8-). So my last sentence is even more relevant especially as this line (as quoted from the manual) says it all "If you are using the output from a Ray Allen servo or sensor, connect per the chart below". If it was me I'd be really worried about their ability...

HDX Instal - Rc Allen Elevator Trim - Dyon display

    1. He needs to use the latest version of the manual - makes it easier for 'help' when referring to page numbers.  Using rev Y it's page 7-58. 2. Unless you're using the SV-a/pilot panel (which you're not as you have TT servos) then connect as per page above. 3. For a 'workshop' this is basic...

AP servo calibration is not available.

Did you do a network config ? Does the screen show all the Dynon items after you press 'detect' ?

    Dynon Pitot Tube Installation

I Install the Dynon Pitot tube & Controller in an outermost wing inspection panel (not sure if that's available/possible in the Velocity) - its then easy to disconnect the power/ground wires & the 2x tubes, don't understand why so many haven't done that. It's much easier then to work on the...

Keeping backup battery charged while building

Sure can, just connect power to the SV (I think it should be charging at least 12.25v ) & connect the backup battery to the SV with the dedicated cable ;)

    Troubleshooting new sensors

Sorry Curly, I've been preoccupied & Dynon may have been too after Sun nFun. Your last sentence - something's up here, if you see volts (4.4) on the green wires ( with sensors disconnected) that doesn't make sense.  Did you use the Dynon EMS harness ? Made any modifications to it ? Hopefully...

    SV-COM-25 Squelch Adjustment

I'd disconnect those too, although they are isolated it doesn't prevent them from generating "noise", if any, being injected into the audio. ;)

    SkyView And Magnetometer

The SV unit is a completely different box & not at all compatible.

    Troubleshooting new sensors

Did you reconfigure the system for the Kavlico sensors ? " I then checked the voltage to the units; 4.4 volts. " - which wire ? Where did you connect the red wire on each sensor to ? "During all testing, both units were unplugged". - volts testing, correct ?

    SV-COM-25 Squelch Adjustment

They are a common cause of audio issues - best when troubleshooting is to disconnect everything at the beginning or one at a time to find the culprit ;)

    CHT probe problem

The fault is MOST likely the crimp connectors at the probe/loom junction especially if they are the pink coloured ones supplied.  If they are pink then I'd replace them with the AMP brand (red).  In my experience the CHT probes do not 'fail'. You are using a good double jawed crimper, correct ?

    Trim Switch Source

Tim, if you are using the Ray Allen trim motor then trim relays are NOT required r ;)

    AP Panel Trim Problems

I'd swap over the motor wires to Motor 2, that's a simple check to prove whether you do have a problem with the AP panel.  If it works with motor 2 then you most likely have a defective panel however if you get the same fault then maybe it could be another problem altogether.

    SV-Adahrs installation

Not ideal, I'd go for at least 18" - what i'd do is move a lump of steel (or servo) around at the same distance as the existing one (with the SV powered up) & see what changes if any it has with compass headings. you may need to buy a SV-MAG-236 remote if there are issues.
