No need to connect a tach wire from each P-mag as a tach signal will be read regardless. Also, If you have a VP- X system, there is no need to have separate power switches ( more points of failure) as you can 'test' the power function of the P-Mags by switching bus power via the VP-X menu in...

Those 2 white/black striped wires do not go to the EDC, just into the EMS which also feeds the OAT via the dsab wiring to an EFIS ;) You will need to buy the 3 wire probe if you don't have an EMS, Dynon may have a different solution though. Jake J

That's one of the reasons I install the ADAHRS units to the upper portion of the next bulkhead aft of the baggage one, nice & high & out of the way of ferrous items ;) Jake J

Steve I just confirmed from my guy in the US - basically  if you ship a unit (in this case a 430) to Garmin the charge is $950 for them to 'look' at it.  What a local avionics shop charges for software updates is a whole different ball game. We should go back to discussing all things DYNON, why...

Aaaah, Steve You mentioned Firmware earlier & now software - the Garmin $950 was in reference to Firmware not software as you talked about in your last post   :-?  The unit was shipped to Garmin & return shipping was added too :) Jake J

FWIW -when my Gps fails or the IFR requirement for Tso 145/146 units date arrives here I am NOT buying Garmin. Call me pig headed but I refuse to pay the charges that Garmin have just to do upgrades or to 'look' at a unit. >:( Bring on the revolution. Jake J

Manufacturers guidance usually takes precedence however there are certain 'qualifications' here.  It's all about context. Ignition P lead shields are grounded both ends however audio shields are grounded at the audio panel or intercom if no audio panel used.  Phone/Mic jacks shields are left...
