Vern I've found some issues sometimes with pass-throughs with SV transponder ( hex code was changing randomly) & VPX too but not Aera 500, solution appears to be letting the SV's power up completely & then powering up the avionics. HTH Jake J

Is it possible you have an NC (normally closed) as opposed to an NO one ? Just thinking ...... I had that happen once, someone 'borrowed' a ptt switch & accidentally replaced it with an NC version ::) Jake J

John Don't discount the antenna - I found one that had 2 of the 4 segments missing that make contact with the pin of the BNC connector.  The result was a poor & intermittent connection to the antenna. This was found after a customer reported the Txpdr was dropping off radar & had reduced...

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression -it was just that 'a heads up' as to what I have found, a complete generalisation.  BTW Dynon do not supply the connectors directly and I certainly don't mean to imply they do. We need to be mindful of the issues that can cause some faults in our installed...

....or you could use a 3PDT switch so that both sceens would only see 1 x Gps at a time & simply set the switch to the other Gps if one fails - this still would then use only 1 x serial port as DS says ;) Jake J
