DS - just an FYI ;) ALL the installations I have done for the last 2 1/2 years have been using VP-X exclusively, maybe the uptake is not so evident in the US but I don't see why, the VP-X is an excellent unit IMO :) Jake J

I don't bother with anti-seize for the Cht but any of the anti- seize brands will do the job ;). That's what they are used for. Jake J

Murray FYI - The VP-X flap circuit has been improved to cater for the higher current draw of the Glasair & Lancair flap motors.  I have no issues using the VP-X for the flaps  :) No need for relays etc. Jake J

I'd like to know more because if that is the case there will be a lot of aircraft affected, especially the not TSo'd Microairs, Xcoms & Icoms IMO. ::) Just had a thought - are you really talking TSO or the ACMA ...

Sunfish Re the OZ side of things - I have spoken to a guy at Airservices & they don't have 8.33 on their radar, it's just not needed here for the foreseeable future. Read that to be 15 + years ;) Jake J

Correct David, use ONLY the Hex code NOT the Binary code supplied with the registration of aircraft in Australia. Search the Internet for a Binary to Hexadecimal converter  ;) Jake J

Steve A thought - it may be useful to connect a DMM to observe the volts while the power up is happening too. Jake J

John My method is to power off 1 x screen & do the other with all other Dynon products powered up then do the same for #2 followed by a Network Configuration (with ALL the systems turned on), you can leave the backup battery disconnected for this too if you want. Pm me if you want & I'll call...

You need the ap74 on to do the update,everything should then work ok after that. Jake J

As ETA is available on the map page I don't see a need for it elsewhere as I'd suggest you wouldn't have the flight plan page up in flight normally - maybe others will see it differently   :) Jake J

Hugh You have probably tried this & it's a simple check to eliminate one item - try the other screens battery with this unit, that will determine whether it's a bad battery ;) BTW - circuit breakers can cause 'issues' that a DMM won't find, just ask David Brown. Jake J
