George I'd use a multimeter to 'bus' out those wires just to be sure, colours don't matter as it's where they end up that counts & they may have been changed. Jake j

    EGT probe change?

Steve I understand the original question bit, maybe not all thermocouples are created equal ;) Did you by chance ever check your probe readings against a calibrated sensor ? If not then how do you know which is correct :-/ FYI - my comments were only generalisations & meant to be...

    EGT probe change?

DS Steve W made this comment -  "Pretty much just like the one that went in, maybe a little bit of color change due to heat". In other words, it was intact in appearance, but failing in operation."  - that would indicate to me that most likely the actual probe has not failed but the connectors...

Jay FWIW- I've never soldered any thermocouple wires. ;) Jake J

    EGT probe change?

This may help resolve the issues in some cases -  the supplied spade connectors are too solid ie they are very hard to crimp (even with a good quality crimper) & therefore do not crimp well.  I throw out the supplied 'pink' coloured ones & replace them with the red AMP ones.  There are several...

    Whats next

My preference is leaving the display options as they exist now, Portrait mode is better for the 'look ahead' IMO. I can live with the engine stuff in the vertical 20% screen, my ears will tell me if there may be a problem with the engine & it is a quick button press to get to 50% for more info...

DS - as a point of reference for Mode S Transponder users in Australia - we don't input VH (our equivalent to your 'N') into the setup parameters :) Jake J

    Voltage Display question on D100

Nice to know you read the manual as so many don't - understanding is another issue & I've also had difficulty understanding some manuals ;) I is the internal backup battery. E would be the 'old' keep alive circuit that's not used anymore. Jake J

EFIS-D10A firmware update, EDC not detected

nauga Have you tried to update the EDC with the EMS disconnected ?  If  that works then I'd suggest you do have a wiring issue somewhere - maybe a pin is not seating  (clicked) home fully in the connector - twas just a thought  :) Jake J

    IO-540 P-lead resistors (repost)

Vern Another forum poster here, David, had similar issues & tried all sorts of 'fixes' including a check of his mags (I think only 1 of them was causing the fluctuations) , he changed out the mag for another new one & I think the problems went away.  My suggestions however only relate to the...

    IO-540 P-lead resistors (repost)

Vern I had to recently go to 120K ( first time ever) on a customers Rv10, 100K was just a bit low to stop the spurious warnings at the takeoff rpm. ;) Good luck :) Jake J

    Help! Flow Meter Connection Mystery.

Jim Good to hear that's sorted. There is no aircraft/engine specific K factor, it has more to do with variables in fuel systems types & design. I leave the Jab Fuel Tank gauge system as is & have much more trust in using a dipstick for gauging fuel then using the fuel flow system in flight as...

    Legacy Nav/Com Compatibility

Rob They sure make it expensive for you there :o I'm fairly sure you can't have 2 Gps's displayed at the same time but Dynon may chip in here, however you can select individual sources of Gps & have a Nav etc displayed on the same HSI. Jake J

    Help! Flow Meter Connection Mystery.

Jim in 2 was the 'old' keep alive (power direct from battery bus) & is not used anymore although some harnesses still have them included, that yellow you have should go to pin 14. So for Fuel Flow you have Red to 15 as well - seems like someone has confused the wiring. :-? Jake J
