Update on CHT & EGT jumping when I press the PTT

Richard I'm working with Reidvaitor on this same issues - IMO you are both on the same track ie coax and grounding to fix these 'issues'. RG400 (or similair low loss coax) is the ONLY type to use. Good antenna bonding is also ESSENTIAL. HTH Jake J

    Transponder - operational check

Did you connect the external standby ? If yes then you probably have that 'on' however exactly what pin numbers you've connected to would be good to know. As an aside, some of the numbers and lines don't line up properly so that needs to be checked carefully ;) Jake J

    Transponder - operational check

Did you use a premade wiring harness for the 262 ? If not, can you show a diagram of what you connected on your website ? Jake J

    OAT Discrepancy

If you have an RV (flying) then inside the wing root area is where I'd put the 2 wire OAT - 3 wire types in the tail area. HTH Jake J

    OAT Discrepancy

Skysailor Yes it's important as you may get heat transfer, especially when using cabin heat that's why attaching to cabin air inlet is not a good idea unless the cabin side is cover with some good insulation to stop the heat transfer. ;) HTH Jake J

    Erratic Tach Readings

Hugo PPR will be 1 or 2, trying different numbers won't hurt the Dynon. Tach reading 0 indicates you probably have an intermittent connection, maybe the resistor is broken. Use your MM (multimeter) to check continuity while wriggling the wires. HTH Jake J

    Skyview, VPX & autotrim

In a word, no.  Most Auto trim systems use the existing electric elevator trim - conversely most do not have auto roll trim. Auto Trim usually applies to Altitude Hold and is an additional feature that auto pilot manufacturers have for their systems as an additional cost item.  With this...

CHT/EGT rise when PTT is depressed

I'm working on this issue with a 'poster' and will post the results here when it's resolved. FWIW - I've found if you have good quality coax (eg RG400) and component grounding, that prevents 95% of problems.  However there are many other factors involved including quality of connectors, proper...

Tach inputs with Slick Start mag booster.

DS The std Dynon Tach setup using the P-leads works well with the Slickstart system, I've recently connected an IO-540 this way. ;) Jake J

    Skyview, VPX & autotrim

"I suspect it's a little disappointing the VP-X didn't go like wild fire after all the noise we made about it." IMO the uptake will be slow initially until we become aware of the benefits and features of the VP systems - I recently installed the VP-X into a RV10 but the timing of the Dynon/VP...

CHT/EGT rise when PTT is depressed

I do a lot of installations on all types of aircraft so I may be of help to you. What type of aircraft do you have ? Composite or ally ? Did changing to RG 400 (the only type to use IMO) do anything ? Jake J :)
