    Mounting ADHARS

Guys, I took a hand held compass and took a reading away from the plane.  I then placed in the plane (in my case on the canard), took another reading - no change. I then turned on all the power in the plane, and GULP, no change  :-) This is a very simple way to determine if there is any...

If you have two separate Skyviews - is one $500 purchase sufficient for the two systems?  Tim

    Skyview in a Velocity

Folks, I have started a website for my Velocity.  The Skyview install process is a big part of it.  I also plan to document how well it works in flight, especially when I begin my IFR training (when all features are available). I hope this will help.  Comments are welcome!! Safe Flying.  Tim...

    Moving map

OK, I will ask the question: I am assuming that the map software will also have the normal data fields (Speed, Distance to Waypoint, Time to Waypoint, etc)? Is this a valid assumption? Tim

    Garmin 496 Settings

OK, Just got back from the frigid airport.  Good news:  after turning all the serial ports, and GPS to none....except the serial port I was using......the MAP function came to life!! Bad news:  I have no idea where the map location indicated.  Yup,  I am aware of the need to change the...

    Garmin 496 Settings

The 496 was not in sim mode, I had a waypoint plugged in. I had serial 5 turned off as well.  I did not change GPS1 on port number 5 after turning it off.  I hope it is a simple as that   :) I am assuming it is the same issue for my GNS-430 settings!!  Thanks  Tim

    GNS-430 Output Settings

Mel, Thanks for the response(s). I am scratching my head trying to figure out why this is not working.  I confirmed all the GNS-430 output settings (same as previous settings  for EFIS D10A). The 430 is transmitting data.  All other serial ports turned off. Guess I will need to talk to Dynon...

    Garmin 496 Settings

I just retuned for the airport - no luck withe Garmin 496  :( I was able to tell it was hooked up to serial port one, there was an exchange of data Tx and Rx.  (Is this a valid assumption?).  All other serial ports - off SV Settings: Serial 1 In device:     Garmin 495/496 Serial 1 In Function...

    Garmin 496 Settings

I went to the airpot today to work on settings for the Skyview. I could not get my GNS-430 to work.  I am using the Approach Stack System and need to determine what serial port it is using (more to follow I am sure). I did hook up my Garmin 496 and could tell that it was connected to the...

    GNS-430 Output Settings

Are the GNS-430 output settings the same for the D-10A EFIS? Meaning, should I have to change them for the SkyView?  Thanks  Tim

    Oil Temp Probe?

I am now setting up my SV system - hopefully I will not have too many posts   :) My Oil temp reads red X , even though the Dynon P/N shows up when I conduct the EMS sensor Mapping.  I have checked all grounds as well. I would like to get rid of the red X.  Any ideas?  Thanks  Tim

    GPS Input

First, today I fired up the Skyview for the first time in the plane. WOW!! The displays are awesome.  I am bummed that I was stuck in the hangar, snow was way too deep to even roll the plane out to get a good GPS signal. However, I looked through the manuals and could not find the process to...

    EMS-220 Wiring!!

Dynon, Now that I am getting ready to hook up the EMS, I am paying more attention. I understand the previous EMS D-10 does not need to be a power cable.  But, I must hook up the previous "power" wire to measure voltage. So, what do I hook the wire up to?  Thanks  Tim

    SkyView Correct Breaker Size

OK, I will ask the question before I hook up power.  Want to make sure that the appropriate breaker is a 5 amp one.   SkyView System no battery       - 3.5 amps SkyView with back up battery    - 1.5 amps (additional) I currently have the Skyview, battery, EMS, and GPS antenna.   I use the...

    Skyview Connections

Is there a picture/diagram for the rear Skyview conncetions? Is there a specific connector one the Skyview designated for the EMS, and on for the ADAHRS? I did see that the ether net connection is for future use.  (I actually did read the manual  :) Thanks  Tim
