New Dual Band ADS-B for SkyView / AF-5000 Systems

The COM antenna isn't an issue. It's 1/30th the power and a totally different frequency. You can get as close to this as you want (well, don't get just an inch away I guess).

New Dual Band ADS-B for SkyView / AF-5000 Systems

The spacing requirement is there to prevent you from actually physically damaging components on the ADS-B receiver. The 300W coming out of the transponder antenna is pretty tough to handle on the ADS-B receiver side, which is designed to be sensitive to 0.000000001 watts. It's not just a...

New Dual Band ADS-B for SkyView / AF-5000 Systems

Fixed wing GA and EAB equipage is about 20%.

New Dual Band ADS-B for SkyView / AF-5000 Systems

Dwight, Glad you're excited about our new dual band receiver! Just to set expectations correctly, Biz Jets currently have the lowest ADS-B equipage rate in the fleet. It can cost $200,000 to equip a $2M jet, so a lot of them are waiting. Current equipage is significantly under 10%. Airliners...

    Dynon Dimmer control

In BRIGHTNESS SETUP in SETUP, you can configure what voltages mean what brightness. With this you can change the slope. So while you can swap the wires, you can also go in to setup and swap it there too. Worth going in here and making sure that you are able to hit the brightest and dimmest you...

    ADAHRS-2 data logging

The second ADAHRS is not logged independently, so using it in that way won't work. Only the displayed AHRS is in the datalog.

How far Should ADAHRS Be From Dynon Heated Pitot

The issue is not the heated pitot probe itself, but the wires going to and fro from it. These wires are 10A, so the goal would be to keep them at least 18" away from the ADAHRS. You might get away with 12" if you keep the ground and power wires twisted together, so the ground and power fields...

Skyview HDX navigator skips over waypoints

Can you share one of these flight plans and your direction of flight with us? We haven't heard of this before, so maybe there is a hint in the route you are taking.

    ADAHRS, EMS, GPS momentary failure

Henry, Glad you found the issue. Sounds like you're one of our earlier SkyView customers. The wiring harnesses we have sold for about the last 4 years have a second jacket on the wires like you mentioned. The downside being they are quite a bit stiffer, so everything is a trade-off.

It is directly pin compatible with the 470.

    Skyview wish list

A way to do this already is to put your cursor on the airport you want and hit NRST then WX. This will show you the closest known WX reports.

    Interesting CHT display

We do this on purpose. In many cases where you have less CHT's than EGT's, this means your cylinders are in one block and thus the temperature is for more than one cylinder (like a Rotax or a V8), and this makes that visually apparent.

    Fuel transfer monitor

Paul, What pressure are you monitoring? I'm not sure there's any pressure in that system to monitor. Assuming there is, then I think the answer is easy. You need a DPST or DPDT switch (two switches in one) The Kavlicos are 0.5 to 4.5V, not 0 to 5V. So if you run the Kavlico signal through your...

    Fuel transfer monitor

Paul, Are you using a sender that is just a switch, or one that varies with the level in the tanks? What exact behavior do you want? Something like this:? 1) Black when switch off (or green?) 2) Green when switch on and level high 3) Yellow when switch on and level low Or are you trying to...

    Trim Switch Source

Tim, Panel mount? Stick mount? Two switches (separate up/down) or one toggle switch?

    Trim Switch Source

Tim, We need a bit more information about the switch you already have. Almost switch can be easily hooked to the AP control panel by just using only two of the wires. Most of the switches we're familiar with are either 2 wire or 6 wire, not four, hence the question.

How to dim ems warning led?

Are you trying to dim it only at night or all the time? Do you have another switch in the cockpit that you want to dim it via, or only via the SkyView auto light sensor? If you want to use the SkyView PWM, you need a transistor, and the easiest thing to use is a FET. See the schematic below...

    Servo Shear Screws

There is no change the safety aspect of the screw- it breaks at the same force as before. We just improved the fatigue characteristics which sometimes lead to them breaking at lower forces than required.
