    Compatibility of GTX-345 with SkyView

Garmin encrypts their ADS-B data streams, so we cannot use the data from it. On the financial side, a SkyView transponder and ADS-B receiver is $2,000 less than a GTX-345.

D100 and Flying a Back Course

When doing a back course with an HSI, you have to put the LOC course in as the course, not the direction you are landing. This causes the HSI to be "upside down" and automatically reverses the sensing for you. The other way is to put the runway course in, but then tell the SL-30 to be in...

D100 and Flying a Back Course

There's a few different ways of flying a back course with an HSI. A few questions: Which course did you have entered in the HSI? The direction you were landing, or the direction of the localizer? Did you enable back course on the SL-30 (page 16 of the manual)?

    Checklist on skyview

121kB is enormous for a checklist. It should be a 10kb or less .TXT file. Can you post your checklist here?

    D10A Wire Harness

The GPS 251 plugs right into that harness. It's the correct one to use in a STC’D install.

    Pilot User Manual Stc'd D10A

That is the correct user guide. The FAA did not require us to write a new user guide since we already had a great one, and they do not review operators guides as part of certification. So there is not a "certified" one. I guess at some point we will need to revise that one to remove that one...

    D10A Install Manual-Battery

This sounds like you are reading the STC install manual? 3.6 in that manual is the D10A battery. We haven't had any revisions since it was issued, but if yours stops at section 3.8 then there's something wrong. The manual PDF should be 34 pages long and you can get a fresh copy at the EAA's...

    FAA ADS-B Out $500 Rebate!

We do not know of a standalone GPS that is less than $500 more than our SV-GPS-2020 that qualifies. Dynon's SV-GPS-2020 is so inexpensive that you would actually lose money getting $500 back on any other product. Plus, remember this would only count if you upgraded to our transponder and that...

    GPS data

Everything looks fine. You just don't have a destination set on your map so it doesn't know where to fly to. You need to go into the map and give it an airport and then HSI+ALT will show up.

ADSB proximity alarm (LED flashing light)

As Airguy says, we do audio alerts, and we put a big yellow "TRAFFIC" on the screen. We do not have the ability to drive an external indicator. One note is that our traffic alert is not just on distance. It actually takes the direction and altitude change rate and calculates how close two...

    MAP readings are high

You can get this kind of value if you mix up the connections, so please double check which one goes to each pin. Also verify you have 5V between ground and power at the sensor. If all of those are good, then it's likely a bad sensor.

    FAA ADS-B Out $500 Rebate!

We have spoken with the FAA about this rebate, and only one situation with the Dynon equipment is eligible: You must add the transponder AND a TSO'd GPS at the same time. You cannot have ever flown the plane with the Dynon transponder before, regardless of the GPS connected. You cannot use...

    FAA ADS-B Out $500 Rebate!

The above quotes are about what kind of equipment can be installed in an EAB or LSA aircraft. We are not experts on the FAA rebate either, however, the rebate says: Dynon's transponder is TSO'd, so it appears to comply. The GPS-2020 is not TSO'd however, so it's unclear if it applies. It does...

    GPS input options

Sam, One thing to be clear about as well- a simple GPS like the 251 into a D180 will only give you a few bits of information, such as winds aloft, GPS ground track, and fuel economy. The D180 does not have a database inside, so you can't tell the AP to fly to a specific point without a moving...

FAA Warning Letter regarding ADS-B and Mode S ICAO

Shane, First, this is not an ADS-B issue. All Mode-S transponders also send out the ICAO code. You must have this set correctly to legally operate one in the USA. It's pretty clear what happened here- the Dynon transponder ships with an ICAO of 000000, but if you have this, it won't come out...

EFIS-10A AOA Probe mounting on a Cessna 150

Ed, The STC covers using our Pitot/AoA probe, but only for AoA. You have to install it in addition to your current pitot probe, you can't replace it. If you do install it, it installs on an inspection cover and requires only a single pressure line run to the D10A.

    Problem with VP-X Pitch Trim

Carl, You need to calibrate the trim position using HARDWARE CALIBRATION in the setup menu. That sets the direction of display and the green takeoff trim position. Check page 13-4 of the install guide for more details:
