    Loss of GPS during flight

Don Jones/ Dynon Support answered my email. If the system loses GPS from jamming or something, it will still have the primary flight instruments, but all navigation will be lost of course. The primary instruments are GPS aided, but loss of GPS will not stop them from working, they may just...

    Loss of GPS during flight

I spoke with support yesterday. I asked how what happens in Skyview when GPS is lost. I don’t think this support person appreciated how many of us use Skyview in IFR. He suggested that I write an email requesting guidance / clarification on the Skyview mode on loss of GPS, similar to the...

    Loss of GPS during flight

Thanks for reviving this thread. The current events in Texas give one pause. TouchTheSky raised the question about what GNSS was used. I cannot find info in the pilots guide or install guide indicating anything other than ”GPS” is used. I’ll call Dynon if no one knows. As to what Skyview...

Hobbs Time and Tach Time Flight Durations with v16.2.4

Hi Don - I have this issue (1 mag, 1 pmag) when you say “fail” one of the inputs, am I just doing a phyzical disconnect of one of the rpm inputs (probably the pmag…)? Or is this a configuration fix? Thanks,

    Loading Edited Config file

I used Notepad. For casual text edits, i have never experienced any issues. Word processors and spreadsheets do all kinds of conversions to “improve” data. I did a file comparison after the fact and only saw the changes I made. I too would be comforted by a list of the offending values...

    Loading Edited Config file

Hi, To resolve an adhrs cross compare issue, per my conversation with Dynon support, I downloaded the User_Config file from my Skyview system and edited two lines to new values using a text editor. The changes are: adahrs_xchk_tc_thres=0.5 change to 2.0, adahrs_xchk_tr_thres=0.5 change to...

    Choosing an IFR GPS navigator

JS - you described my panel. I like the setup and am so impressed with the IFD540. It really simplifies IFR. I used G430 for 15 years or so and that worked great but occasionally the route planning effort and entry was pretty high. I have a D2 as a backup but am considering switching to...

V16 upgrade yields “Trim Feedback Stuck” warning

Sure. The wires for canopy, pitot, and stall need to be moved from the EFIS to the EMS. Page 66 of the V6.5 Installation Manual shows the Aircraft Rear Connector Pins 1, 2, and 14 are listed as Input PFD 1, 3 and 2 respectively. Page 98 diagram list them as 1 - Canopy Warn , 2 - as Stall...

V16 upgrade yields “Trim Feedback Stuck” warning

This issue is resolved for me. Dynon pointed out that pin# 14 should not go to ground. AFS built the panel and I elected to use the ACM. Figuring out what pin number 14 out of the EFIS into the ACM should do was sort of a challenge. Turns out it does not matter. Jeff Hickman at AFS pointed me...

V16 upgrade yields “Trim Feedback Stuck” warning

I provided left and right diagnostics files. Trim amp installed is no. The wire on Pin 14 connects to an ACM so am researching where that might come out. The left screen is interesting. How does it know?

V16 upgrade yields “Trim Feedback Stuck” warning

Dynon support asked that I check the network status page. This screen reveals nothing amiss. All devices are shown, with V16 installed, and show operational. I have another call in to report this. Standby for round 2

V16 upgrade yields “Trim Feedback Stuck” warning

Yes. Talked with Dynon Support yesterday afternoon. I will go look at network status this morning to see if this reveals a component missed in the upgrade.

V16 upgrade yields “Trim Feedback Stuck” warning

I did a test flight today and by gosh, I suppose the trim feedback is stuck. No longer do I have auto trim when the autopilot is engaged. I left a voicemail message for support on the topic.

V16 upgrade yields “Trim Feedback Stuck” warning

Dynon, After the upgrade, the left HDX displays this warning but the right HDX does not. I do have the AP panel and it is the sole trim controller. I also looked thru the v16 docs and do not see this warning message. Where shall I start to resolve this? Thanks, Dennis
