skyview, waas gps, ifr charts, canada

The G3X has a WAAS GPS receiver but it is not certified. For that you still require an IFR certified GPS along the lines of a G430W and the ARINC-429 module, just like the Skyview. http://www8.garmin.com/aviation/brochures/g3x_brochure.pdf Many of us a re looking forward to this upgrade. 8-)

    BRG 1 and BRG 2

I will have to let DYNON answer that since it might be something that is easier said than done. I imagine there is a lot more involved than just a small software change or some other GPS units would have that capability by now and I don't know of any unit that does it, TSO'd or not. I, for one...

    BRG 1 and BRG 2

I think you are mixing what the Skyview is supposed to do (display whatever is sent to it) and what the navigation source, be it an external GPS; Skyview's internal GPS; a VOR or NDB is supposed to do (output navigation information). By going to the NEAREST section in your GPS you see what is...

    Automatic Pitot Heat

How about automatic Pitot heat capability? If enabled, it would turn the Pitot heat on whenever the OAT drops below a predetermined temperature. 8-)

    Carbon Fiber and Avionics

The antennas they use might not require a separate ground plane. These ( http://www.advancedaircraft.com/ ) are the antenna I used in my composite KIS4 Cruiser. They work great! 8-)

    EGT probe change?

Just under 50hrs and my #4 EGT is acting up. Goes from nothing to working perfect then back to nothing as I fly along. It had worked perfect up until now. 8-)

    SKYVIEW ADS-B and Garmin 430W/530W

That would be GREAT! Crossfeed the flight plan from the GARMIN into the SKYVIEW so when you select the approach in the GARMIN, it cross feeds and displays on the SKYVIEW. The best of both worlds. The GARMIN navigation accuracy on the much better SKYVIEW display. We can only wish. 8-)

    SKYVIEW ADS-B and Garmin 430W/530W

When I was trying your suggestion I realized the Garmin 430W has TWO ADS-B settings within software Version 5.0, GARMIN ADS-B and GARMIN ADS-B+. I had selected GARMIN ADS-B+. As soon as I changed from GARMIN ADS-B+ to GARMIN ADS-B everything worked perfectly. THANKS! 8-)

    Best glide AOA

OK, let me ask this another way. What angle of attack, as indicated on the DYNON AOA after calibration, is close enough to max L/D to be useful in our type of flying? 8-)

    Best glide AOA

OK, so how does DYNON AOA indicator show the best L/D ratio angle? Is it at the top of the GREEN, top of the YELLOW or some other point? 8-)

    Dual Flight Plan Export

In a SKYVIEW multi display system when you export a flight plan, the file is exported only to the USB thumb drive connected to that display. How about an option that lets you export the file to both USB thumb drives at the same time. I keep a USB thumb drive connected to each display and I can ...

    Switch Fuel Tank Reminder?

OK, I give up. Where in the Skyview System Installation Guide V7.0 (September 2013) can I find how to configure the switch fuel tank reminder? It is very well hidden or I can't read today. 8-)

    7.0 Buttonology Issue

I totally agree. I just flew with V7 today and also found this an issue. Pan and Zoom are the most used inputs on the MAP page. The automatic pop up bubble is extremely annoying since I use Pan/Zoom to see information that is on the MAP display but at a larger scale. The pop up bubble winds up...

    ADSB Icons

How about replacing the ADSB aircraft icons (different circles and triangles) on the map page, with color coded aircraft icons starting at the beginning of the speed vector. Something like this: 8-)
