Experimental screens are indeed shipping now (and have been for some time) - that's our current backlog due to demand and having trouble shipping earlier in the year. The current estimated lead times for experimental HDX displays is 5-6 months from when Dynon receives an firm order, either from...

    Yak52 install gotchas

And that's really so they don't power off. You won't damage SkyView with drooping voltage (which is common). The displays may restart though. If you have a backup battery connected, that takes over and then you won't have any issues here.

    Installing second HDX screen

SkyView Network and the serial ports are the only ones that HAVE to be connected. Ethernet is optional (it only syncs digital databases, saving you having to upload it to both displays). And SkyView Network can be brought in from any SkyView Network-connected device. IE, all SkyView Network...

Generally, they're tied to AP releases. The C182, due out "very soon" (subject to FAA approval, that we don't have control over), will not have new software. But likely, the next airplane will. Those plans are subject to change.

An update on Dynon Certified projects

The short answer is that it's not plausible to make our system compatible with other servos. There are both deeply technical reasons, but even if that weren't the case, certification covers the system from end to end. Changing just the servos means it's an entirely different autopilot system.

    Different Boot Screen?

It's tied to the internal hardware version, of which there are multiple versions. Newer internal electronics (which are sometimes deployed on older screens when they need repair) have the FLYDYNON logo. Previous versions have the legacy SkyView branding. For complicated reasons - that is...

    Screen Freeze

If you have SkyView HDX or SkyView Touch, pinch to zoom is supported. SkyView Classic doesn't have a touch screen, so that wouldn't work, but touching the screen shouldn't cause any errant behavior either.
