    Display quiting?

Here  is a photo of my 7" display taken this morning.  I'll send some of these to support as well.

    Display quiting?

Mine has been doing that as well. If I tap on the display (not a touchscreen!), it returns to normal for awhile but it's pretty annoying. I live in Mississippi where it's very humid so moisture might be involved.

    inflight mag calibration

Just checked all of this; one ADAHRS is selected and the other is "Standby" and nothing looks amiss. I did a calibration just before shutting down the engines and it all seemed to go well so I'm going to try another air calibration in a day or two and I'll take a thumb drive along to get screen...

    inflight mag calibration

I'll check on all of that and get back to you. I had to leave my plane at another airport over the weekend because the weather was bad here and we couldn't get back in but I'll get it back this weekend.

    inflight mag calibration

Sorry for the long delay.  I have some screen shots that I'll send you; actually photos from my cell phone but you'll see what you need to sea.  I bought the external compass at Oshkosh so I'm hoping that this will resolve the more chronic issues I've had with magnetic interference but I will...

    inflight mag calibration

My compass calibration (dual D700 and dual ADAHRS) has always been an issue and, lately, it's been showing a 50 knot crosswind so I decided to do the air calibration. It seemed to work fine for the 200 unit and I got a quality of 115 or so but the other, 201 unit never registered anything. It...

    Rocky Mountain Instruments Amp sensor

Got it; thanks. I'm going to order a pair of shunts tonight. When I see "it's not trivial" in red, I know what that means!!! Thanks! Vernon

    GRT Hall-Effect Configuration

Could we get an update on this effort? I'm trying to use my Rocky Mountain Instruments Hall Effect current sensors which "should" be similar to this and I'm wondering what my chances are. If I have to replace them with shunts or with GRT sensors, I can, but I'd like to weigh all of my options...

    Rocky Mountain Instruments Amp sensor

I am converting both engines in my Defiant from Rocky Mountain Instruments monitors to Dynon Skyview and would like to use the Rockay Mountain (RMI) sensors as much as possible.  So far, that is not complicated but I have a question regarding their hall effect current sensors that are installed...

2 issues: Could they be a grounding issue?

Wow, what an excellent reply; I totally get it. In the past, I did have some junctions go through a bulkhead connector in the firewall but now all of them go through a protected hole so all junctions are either wholly inside or outside. Thanks so much for this reply.

2 issues: Could they be a grounding issue?

Sorry, but I didn't quite follow that. Are you saying that the junction should be on the same side of the firewall as the probe or on the same side as the EMS? Right now, I have some of both; the left side cylinder junctions are on the cockpit side and the right side cylinder junctions are in...

2 issues: Could they be a grounding issue?

A possibly related question: I am just installing my EMS (Lycoming IO-360) using my old EGT and CHT sensors. I noticed that, when shrinking the heat shrink tubing over the connection between the probe cable and the EMS harness, the displayed temperature goes up by 80F or so. I read up on...

    Dynon makes house (plane) calls!

I visited the Dynon booth at Sun N Fun and talked with Erik Reed about the issue I was having when I inserted KBGF in the Garmin 430W connected to my Skyview (display showed that I was on the equator; flashed to nonsense, etc).  He offered to come to the plane and check it out, which he did...

    Bahamas database

It appears that the Dynon Skyview is even better than Dynon knows! I was planning a trip to the Bahamas and called to see if the standard North America Database covers the Bahamas and was told that it does not. They recommended that I purchase the Jeppesen North American Database which does...

    Flashing, distorted displays

I agree that it's bizarre!! I have dual screens: the left is attached to the SV-GPS-250 and the right (which was flashing) is attached to the 430. I'm not sure that it was tied to the waypoint but when I put it in both, the problem occurred and when I used different waypoints, it did not. Are...

    Flashing, distorted displays

Good idea; I also should have rebooted the Dynon system in the air to see if that helped. I'll try the old database again before I load the new one and see how it acts now that the trip is over.

    Flashing, distorted displays

I'll have to try UOS. But it worked fine when I put some other identifier into the 430 and I don't use that display for navigation anyway so it's not an issue. But it's always interesting when a glitch surfaces because it might be a symptom of some deeper and more sinister problem. Or not....

    Flashing, distorted displays

Hearing no response from Dynon and no one else mentioning similar experiences, I have to agree with Harry: just avoid going to KBGF!  Or if you do, put different identifiers in the two units.....

    Flashing, distorted displays

On a recent flight from Hagerstown, MD (KHG) to Winchester, TN (KBGF) I noted a new problem with my dual 7" Dynon, Garmin 430 system. I entered KBGF into the Direct-to function in both the Dynon and the 430 and this caused my right hand (map) Dynon display to alternately flash nonsense and...

    what's next

Multi engine capability is at the top of my list. Beyond that, maybe Highway in the Sky approaches like GRT uses? Weather is no longer a priority for me; I've purchased another solution (Skyradar) that is fabulous.
