    Approaches in HDX

You. Need to understand how your systems work together Dynon skyview does not do approaches on their own even though it does have a great VFR nav program The good news is that you have a garmin 430. If it has the WAAS upgrade it will do the approaches. You need a Dynon ARINC module so it will...

Auto Pilot - Simplified or Advanced?

To the person who said that they didn’t need to know how all the functions of their autopilot work. IMHO I think it is important for a pilot to understand completely how their autopilot works. Airplanes have crashed recently because the pilots did not understand their autopilots. Your aircraft...

    AOA DISPLAY

I think I asked before How about a larger AOA widget on the display or the option.. Maybe at lower air speeds it could pop up in a larger format

Requested PIREP on Skyview and Garmin GTN 625

I have been flying for several years now with a GTN 750 which should have the same functionality in the NAV function I consider the combination to be close to perfect Once you have your autopilot dialed in to your aircraft, I think you will find that the GPSS function will follow the entire...

    Fuel Flow Calibration shift

Approach your K factor changes slowly from the safe side. You always want the calculated fuel used to be a little more than the actual used for safety. That said, you do want it to be close. Your note however is a good reminder to me to give this item another close look, Incase something is...

    Dynon WAAS GPS

Actually, I have a different opinion on the IFR navigator. My combination of Skyview and all its side components IS seamlessly integrated with a Garmin GTN 750. If you are not flying IFR, and currently rated, you will not fully appreciate the complexity of the Garmin GTN series. I know all...

    ILS Backcourse

Some folks take perverse pleasure in practicing obsolete BC loc Approaches. I have done these approaches, practiced them, but I find with me, the potential is always there to screw one up, and they are not even precision approaches. As I get older, I fly only RNAV or ILS approaches. Period. ;D...

    AOA improvement suggestion

I love my dynon AOA and use it on every landing I did notice that I became dependent on the audio tone on short final as I kept my eye on the runway. The visual AOA indicator is very small. a GREAT FEATURE would be to touch the aoa widget on the screen and have it jump in size to. BIG for maybe...

    AOA MALFUNCTION

My AOA has been installed for over a year and functioned very well. With no specific changes to the system, it has become so irratic that I had to take it off line to prevent annoying warnings during take off and landing. I have checked connections at the pitot tube and by the dual ADAHRS...

    AOA malfunction

I have had my AOA in use for a year or so, and was very happy wth it. It was quite consistant. Recently it has become erratic to the point it is unreliable. I cannot think of anything that changed. I tried to recalbrate it with a new stall series, and the problem persists There does not seem...

What certified GPS equipment is needed for IFR

I have flown IFR with both GNS 430W and GTN 750 feeding skyview EFIS. got full lateral and vertical coupling to the dynon autopilot. ( LPV and LNAV +V) None of these required an annunciator for certification. Earlier Bendix 89b did require one. That is my understanding.

What Databases Do I Need... Advice PLEASE

I have a single Skyview that is driven by a Garmin GTN750 which is the same as the 650 except for screen size. My install is more than 2 yrs old. No need to comment on the dynon databases. I do have the Seattle Avionics charts and IFR VFR maps. Those work well, especially for IFR. Those charts...

    Audio Airspeed Callouts

I have also asked somewhere for the AOA to be larger, or to increase in size when it is tapped on the touch screen. It can either toggle or go to smaller size after 90 seconds. It could alternately increase in size below a set airspeed. maybe 90 kts.
