So it looks like there is another layer to this GPS onion.  Engineering is looking into it, but it may be a few days
before we have an answer.
Appears from a different thread that Engineering is aware of this issue. Awaiting the next steps for resolution

Support;
Any update on the patch for the GPS issue? I need the data logs to troubleshoot an engine issue.
Thank you!

Dynon is up to SkyView Software Ver. 15.4.4.5456 to fix the issue.  See this post on VAF for Dynon-supplied links:

From VAF by Dynon: "... there is indeed a fix for the fix so to speak. There was a math rounding error in the first fix software that again caused the date and time to be invalid.  We do have another version out to correct that issue."

It appears that I can no longer edit or delete my posts.  What's up with that?

Thanks.  But when I posted the two posts above, there was never an option to edit to delete those posts like there had been in the past.  I wonder if it's associated with the ever increasing number of "Internal Server Errors" I see now with the forum software.

I just posted your link to another thread and noticed that I do get a modify and delete for all my posts in that thread.

But not on this thread- aka I can’t modify the previous posts either
Thanks for the sleuthing! I just posted under your post in the other thread, and I also get modify and delete buttons for my posts in that thread.  Strange that this thread is different in that respect.

I have 2 HDX + SV-GPS-250 issue is:

GPS time is represented by a week number and a number counting seconds into the week. The week counter is stored as a 10-bit number; meaning the value of the week number field can be between 0 and 1023.

On April 6th, the week’s field number will have reached 1023, and will roll over from 1023 to 0. Depending on the manufacturer of the GPS receiver, or versions of firmware, a GPS receiver may be affected by this roll over.

GPS Clocks may display inaccurate date and time information, such as rolling time back to the previous Epoch (August 21, 1999), and GPS Navigation Systems may be affected.

The GPS week counter started at 0 on January 6th, 1980. Since then, the week counter has reached its maximum and been reset once, last occurring on August 21, 1999. The next occurrence of the GPS week rollover for GPS clocks with 10-bit week numbers following April 6th 2019 will be November 20, 2038.

Modernised GPS clocks, and GPS navigation systems may be released with a 13-bit week field, allowing up to 8192 weeks, instead of 1023 weeks, before rolling over to 0. This will increase the time between GPS week roll overs from approximately 20 years, to around 150 years.

I just flew with 15.4.4 and it corrected the "Unknown Date & Time" in the user logs and the GPS Course / Winds aloft bad calculation.

Thanks,

Kurt
