Hi All;

When I turn on my pitot heat I get a momentary green indication and then a red button. Has anybody seen this, or have an idea what's going on?

Cheers,

It depends. What are your settings for all of the colors? What is the indication actually measuring in your installation? Usually, you have one color for off or malfunction, and another for on/working. It sounds like you may have more than two colors set up?

Apologies;

I should have added some info. I have the heated Dynon pitot/AOA probe along with the Dynon controller.

The configuration is for the button to be green when ON. It has indicated green when selecting the pitot heat ON for the last 120 hours of flying. Lately it turns green for about one second when turning on the pitot heat, but then the button turns red.

Thoughts?

Sorry for the delay;

I think I found the source for the strange behaviour of my AOA probe. Picture attached. I suspect there was something wrong with the connector, because these are supposedly rated for much more amperage than the pitot heater takes.

If anybody has any thoughts, I'd still be interested.

Give our support team a call at 425-402-433 or email at support at dynonavionics dot com when you have a chance. We'd like to learn more about this. But fundamentally, you're correct - the currents that flow across that connector are suitable for the connector.
