    NO ADS-B OUT: GPS LOST

What transponder do you have? Also, are you testing on the ground or in the air?

    Hardware/software required for autopilot

I agree! And while not necessarily a bad thing: the SV-AP-PANEL only works in advanced mode. Really great for IFR flying (selecting lateral tracking mode, and climb or descend via IAS, VS), but maybe overkill for VFR where you a simple button for TRK+ALT, HDG+ALT, HSI+ALT or LEVEL.

AOA How to fly Dynon’s AOA system on HDX Skyview.

I take it your concern is maintaining an airspeed on final which "prevents" stalling. Something I forgot to mention earlier is that the wing stalls at the same AoA independent of weight, density altitude, loading, bank angle, airplane configuration and more. Aircraft manufacturers offer...

Need general information on the AP

The installation manual is a start. You'll really need this https://dynonavionics.com/public_html/yabbfiles/Attachments/SkyView_Autopilot_In-Flight_Tuning_Guide-Rev_A_Software_v6_0.pdf and lot's of patience. But don't forget to do your compass calibrations on the ground and in the air otherwise...

Please see the picture above. Can you please let us know what information is being displayed in the yellow box if not what's labeled?

    ICAO Codes for DYNON SkyView

The Pilot User's Guide, page 185, provides the guidance. "If your aircraft is equipped with a Dynon Mode-S transponder, a certified GPS navigator or SVGPS-2020, the appropriate ICAO Surveillance Equipment Code is "EB1". The E adds ADS-B credit, and the B1 indicates that you are 1090 OUT." As to...

AOA How to fly Dynon’s AOA system on HDX Skyview.

Stalls occur at the critical angle of attack, and there is a speed associated with every angle of attack in a specific configuration. An AoA system is used for situational awareness and to monitor the onset of a stall. With that in mind, stalls should occur where the yellow chevrons meet the red...

    ICAO Codes for DYNON SkyView

I installed both the Dynon transponder (connected to an Avidyne GPS) and the 472, last year. Almost all of my flights are filed as instrument flight plans equipped as SBG EB1. This may also help: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equipment_codes.

    TRANSPONDER STILL WEIRD!

I'll second that, Ray. Forgot until Ray reminded me. I kept having ATC tell me that they weren't receiving mode C. I replaced my ball tip antenna outside because it was actually broken at the root (couldn't tell from visually). However, I decided to install the L2 antenna that Ray referenced...

    Flickering/Brightness Chaning on Screen

I have 2 x HDX 10". I believe the photo sensor is located middle-top of the bottom bezel where the buttons are located. Anyway, page 3-8 of the installation manual speaks about config settings. As for an external dimmer, it's typically a potentiometer that varies voltage between 0v and 36v (see...

    Flickering/Brightness Chaning on Screen

Voltage drops would either turn off the screen if you didn't have a backup battery or it would throw up a "loss power" message if you have backup batteries. Also, if there was a problem with the ambient light sensor, your screen wouldn't flicker. It would begin slowly dim or slowly brighten. Do...

    TRANSPONDER STILL WEIRD!

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be the antenna; it had cracked at the root and was unnoticed. Replacing the antenna solved my problem. Best of luck.

Sweet! I'm guessing RV-8? Just curious about the iPad. Do you prefer Fly-Q over the panel-mounted GPS? Is it because of usability, larger map, etc? Very nice!

    SV-42 Servo backlash

This happened to me. I was advised to recalibrate the ADAHRS on the ground and in-flight. This fixed it for me.

    Offline Software

Btw, both Avidyne and Garmin have simulators for their navigators. While that's valuable, it's invaluable to have a PFD/MFD simulator that they actually interface with. Sure, primary flight instruments are presented the same regardless of manufacturer. However, what makes SkyView powerful are...

    Offline Software

I second this idea for planning or training. So much easier to try new settings, build system proficiency and even plan preflight routes outside the aircraft than going out to the hangar or sitting on ground power.
