    Skyview network dropouts

Interesting discovery! Maybe it’s not the WiFi dongle itself but parts of the dongle touching metal and grounding something out? Can you try with a flash drive and see if it does the same?

    Garmin GPS 175 with SkyView

Be on the lookout for an IFD440. Yes, it will easily cost $4k more than the 175. However, you’ll gain NAV/COM radios and the ability to fully remote control your unit from an iPad. The FMS is a huge win for IFR flying—especially if you anticipate a dynamic, ever-changing environment. Easiest...

Avidyne IFD440 - skyview and GPS

I would get the 2020 if you haven’t purchased one already. The 2020 meets WAAS standards and is faster for position refreshes vs. the 250. It’s also what’s listed on the FAA’s site as recommended ADS-B out equipage.

    Surefly RPM Problem

I have dual SureFly units. Did you receive a "tach board" from SureFly (contact Jason)? You will wire your unit(s) to the tach board (~8 cm x ~15 cm) which takes signals from the unit(s) and converts it to .5v square wave output for your tach input. I use the SV-EMS-220 that converts the pulses...

    Skyview network dropouts

I used to encounter WiFi disconnects with iDevices when using FF and FlyQ. At some point in May, this problem went away with a combination of SkyView and iOS devices. They're bulletproof (hopefully not jinxing myself) at the moment. I've never encountered the problem with ADAHRS and/or GPS...

Pirch Trim Indicator running in reverse

I agree with @DBRV10. Connect your trim to the EMS or better yet, connect it to the SV-AP-PANEL if you have it (this is how I wired mine).

Network detect fails to detect one servo

Data in/out (typically indicated as TX/RX) consists of a pair of twisted wires. B1 is a twisted pair and B2 is a twisted pair, and provide redundancy for one another as previously mentioned. Since you’ve isolated wiring and confirmed functionality/detection when an individual servo is connected...

Network detect fails to detect one servo

That’s truly bizarre. The servos have 2 pairs for communications. One pair is redundant for the other pair. It’s unusual that the servo would fail detection like that. Perhaps disconnect one pair and see what happens. If it detects, it’ll warn you about the other missing pair.

    Tosten Grip Wiring - CS8

Same here. I have a "PIC" switch to make sure only the flying pilot can engage autopilot, manage trim settings (the hat) and lower/raise flaps on an Infinity switch. All grounds are wired to a ON-OFF-ON rocker.

Network detect fails to detect one servo

Sounds like your problem only occurs when you have multiple servos connected/spliced together. Perhaps get a multimeter and check for signal strength. Maybe your runs are too long and you're losing power/signal. By the way, mine is spliced and it works. Also, I did have a similar issue where the...

    Skyview Touch Joystick short?

Perhaps cover your panel with a thick, foam pad (you could always use something like a moving blanket). The idea is to spread the load of anything impacting your panel. This mitigates (not prevents) jolts to a specific point. Spreading the impact will dissipate the energy better or to harmless...

    Barometric pressure setting wrong?

Sorry if I misinterpret your question. First, your altimeter reading should be +/- 75' of published field elevation. Now, if you're using Class Delta's ATIS for your altimeter setting, it could be as much as 60 minutes old since it's typically updated around the top of the hour. That said, you...

Skyview HDX and VP-X Integration Question

I have 2 HDX with a VPX. Works well. You only need one license key and you should assign that to your primary display if you don't power all displays at the same time.

    Ray Allen Pitch Trim Wiring

I know this isn't much help, but the desired configuration does work. I have my both pitch and roll trim wired to the SV-AP-PANEL and are auto-trimmed with the AP activated. I also have a hat-switch on my control stick that allows me to manually move the trim tabs, too. It's critical to be able...

Avidyne IFD440 - skyview and GPS

Good evening Julien, I use an IFD550 as my primary GPS source. I do have a GPS-2020 as a backup, too. Nonetheless, your configuration should work fine.

Sign up for a free account at https://www.savvyanalysis.com/home. Download your EMS data onto a USB drive as @owenssonex suggests. Then upload it to your Savvy account. You'll be able to analyse any of the following data over time, change, etc. You can also have a specialist look at your data...

Need general information on the AP

I have an all composite plane, too. I have dual ADAHRS installed in the tail. In my case, I did not install an additional magnetometer. However, note that they are ultra sensitive and your calibrations need to be in the 90s for reliability. As an example, I initially made the mistake of...
