    Lean Of Peak -O-Meter

A week has gone by, and with an absence of questions I assume nobody wants me to produce something, which is fine by me, but I am surprised. There are dozens of OWT's out there that many still believe.

Changing from Lead Acid to Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo) battery... change of battery voltage and current range settings?

Just like you, I have been here before. My guess is the following; RED 14.7 > 15 YEL 14.5 > 14.7 GRN 13.3 > 14.5 YEL 12.6 > 13.3 RED 0 > 12.6 As for Shunt position, and I know someone will disagree, but for the life of me I cannot accept any good reason for any position other than Position A...

    One CHT reads high

Most likely the damned crimp connector. Buy a fist full of OLC-1's from Aircraft Spruce and use them.

    Skyview Wish List

As someone who teaches the APS class, and we teach people to analyse their EMS data in flight and on the ground, this would be a bad idea. My suggestion would be nothing more than 1 second for data logging, and how it is on the display is ideal. I see you are in Camarillo, home of my good...

    Garmin530/Dynon Comm Static

I am more wondering about the GNS530 GPS antenna location and the radio Coax. I doubt it is the radio head at all, it has no audio function, just the communication device to the actual radio.

    Lean Of Peak -O-Meter

Raymo, you can run 100% LOP, all day long. It is just not physically possible in a NA engine, but if you were to take a TNIO550 and crank the MP to 33" (from its normal 30") and 2700RPM, and set 20 GPH, you would find it runs just fine. It does. This is done on the GAMI test cell. TN engines in...

    Percentage of Power bug

If all the inputs required exist it should work.

    new guy AP Questions

If you are transitioning from old school NAV systems and round instruments, it will take around 20 hours for you to get competent, and if IFR, I would not fly in IMC until you have gotten fully comfortable with these systems. Even current IFR pilots need several hours if they go from something...

    Lean Of Peak -O-Meter

Guys.......Your old fashion way is fine, 8000 and above. I am one of only three current Advanced Pilot Seminars instructors, my friends Walter is dead, John Deakin is alive but cannot do the classes and COVID means even down here we are not running them. But I am happy to help By the way, Mike...

    Percentage of Power bug

Steve........you can cheat by adjusting the engine HP, but if it really is that wrong you have something wrong. These things just work. But I am sure you know the BIBO concept. So something is BS, somewhere.

    new guy AP Questions

The autopilot in expert mode is rather like an airliner or such. You need to think in a way like I am about to describe, as best I can on a keyboard. Firstly the Flight Mode Annuciator strip at the top of the screen is your window to what is going on. These is telling you what you have asked...

    Percentage of Power bug

You need to set the engine HP in the engine section, drill through the setup menu's. You also need a valid OAT, valid MAP and fuel flow. And do not assume any given MAP/RPM = X% because when ROP this is true but when LOP it will be fuel flow dependent. The algorithm sometimes gets confused at...

    Screen failure + Transponder failure...

Just humour me for a minute and try this........ 1. First of all, do you have any SAN disk mini USB keys connected? If so remove them. Test again. 2. Do you have REVERSION MODE turned on? If so, turn it off on both screens while powered up by themselves. It may be a flakey SSHDD causing the...

Position 1 fail / GPS status page

Ahhh......thats cheatin' ;-) Static error can be dialled out, depending on the static port you used as to what will work, but if you want to get your altimeter and IAS/TAS correct, you can experiment with sticking fences in front of the port. Or a few other things. I started out at -9 knots...

Position 1 fail / GPS status page

RV8JD, You are clearly not flying an RV8..... so what is it? TAS 204, seems more like a rocket in MPH or a Lancair.

Position 1 fail / GPS status page

There ya go! I wonder if it is the WAAS capable satellites that go green. Like I said I have never seen green bars on any Skyview installation (from memory), and the difference being is we do not have WAAS down here on the underside of the earth.

    CO2 detectors

Kelly, The CO detectors integrate the output of the detector so it can be sent to an EMS like the Skyview, then it has audio alerts for say when you pass 40ppm. Corfile.......that is a pity, but in about 5 years when the guardian fails or is needing recalibration you can upgrade to an EX3.0...

Old thread I know, but just searching this topic I found your post. AITHRE have a certified unit, however if you have a HDX STC installation you can still install the integrated unit. For fitting to a non EFIS certified machine go here...
