HDX suddenly lost nav and airspeeds, and showed altitude was more than 50,000' instead of 3500'

Contact DS direct, the chances of a ‘poster’ seeing the same symptoms are zero IMO. The sooner you do that the sooner you can safely go flying again😉

    Usefulness of KNOB and PANEL?

Walt - make sure all Dynon devices are connected & powered on including a/ pilot. go into SV setup menu (buttons 7 & 8) then SETUP MENU>SYSTEM SETUP>SKYVIEW NETWORK SETUP>CONFIGURE. Just follow screen directions 😉

    Usefulness of KNOB and PANEL?

In a word- No. it can be connected to any 1x Dynon device that has a spare 9pin dsub connector, or if one is not available then you would need a SV-NET-SPL. Whichever way you go don’t forget to do a system config.

RC Allen Trim Indicators in Parallel

I'm with Don on this. The good thing about EAB is you can do what you want however complicated you want to make it. the KISS method works really well IMO. Another thought - if you are using the 'old' RP3 displays then don't bother as they will have led 'failures' , use the new RP4's instead...

    EMS D10 Alternator Fail Warning

That's one of the reasons I've been using them as a 'bus' system for so many years ;)

    EMS D10 Alternator Fail Warning

IMO the simplest way to monitor Alternator failure is via the volts alarm set at approx 13 volts in the EMS, no wiring required. Another option (my preferred) is not to have the PP unit fitted at all, it's just a matter of time before it fails or worse causes damage. Another poster had his...

    Transponder Status in Log File

NMEA does not apply, need elaboration on the 'protocol'. FYI - there is only serial data to/from the Txpndr for control from the Dynon & Gps (in the IFR environment) position input etc for ADSB out.

Signs that a 100409-000 probe is going bad?

DS was probably referring to the Legacy system, as you have the HDX the 'types' do not apply.

Using Serial Port 3 to send GPS values to an external device

For Port 3 try pin 8 not 6 on the D37, that'll should fix it or change the output if it doesn't ;)

I have updated... I keep getting these messages

First rule- Make sure all the Dynon network devices are powered on. Second rule - Do a system configuration. Third rule - come back & let us know if the 1st 2 rules (normal basics) haven't worked for you & we can proceed from there.

VAL NAV 2000 + Dynon Skyview

Dynon network is only for Dynon equipment. ARINC data is only used with ARINC capable equipment that interfaces with the Dynon SV screen/s via the Dynon Arinc box directly. Serial data output only devices eg Garmin SL30 & VAL2000 etc connect directly to the serial ports (1 of 5) in the Dynon...

EMS multiple +5V outputs (Pin 18)

There's a lot of book reading going on at the moment ;). Re Aithre - my bad (sorry to Ned as well) , I misread your post as indicating the Aithre draws 300mA whereas it's the Dynon that has the 300 limit on pin 18. In your case using pin 18 still give heaps of margin.

EMS multiple +5V outputs (Pin 18)

Ned, with respect - the 300mA draw for the Aithre is to be considered here 😉 the ‘standard’ Dynon sensors (3) draw a maximum of 20 mA total.
  16. J

EMS multiple +5V outputs (Pin 18)

Read page 158 of the install manual AD-V15.3. The limit is 300 mA however you also need 20 mA for the other sensors eg Fuel & Oil Pressure + MAP. IF that doesn’t work ( it should ) you can always use a 12vdc to 5vdc converter - they are very low cost/size/weight & available on line.

    EMS Trim Servo Connection

"Stein built my panel and included 3 wires for the flaps position sensor from VPX" - Given the wires are already in place then those 3 wires go directly from the VPX to the Flap position sensor (typically the Ray Allen POS-12) & the other set/s go to the Trim motors/s - wired as per the VPX...

    Fuel flow configuration ?

The 5v line is pin 18 (37dsub) white/red stripe wire & the power, 12v for fuel flow, is pin 15 (red) wire.

DEK-180 will NOT start up. Repeat problem after service by Dynon (no issue found, new internal battery installed last year).

The OP did not mention wiring as the issue but specifically a connection as a probable cause - did you remove the connector back shells to confirm the sockets/ pins are fully seated ? Just trying to help out here.
