    Skyview / GNS 430W question

I'll find out soon enough, am about to wire up a new 480 (still in original box) & will try various settings if no one comes back with an answer :)

    Skyview / GNS 430W question

Someone else who has got the correct settings may chime in here but the 480 should not need GAMA 429 Graphics (like the 430/530) as it will do the procedures like 'Holds' in it's own right. That took a while for Garmin the get it into their own developed products, the 480 lead the field, & some...

    No oil pressure signal

Oil (& Fuel Pressure) sensors use Pin 18 (5 volts) to the red wire of the sensor - it's all in the Install Manual, please read it caefully ;)

    CHT/EGT Wire Connectors

I use the Amp brand spade connectors, they work really well if used with a good quality crimper -IMO  the supplied pink ones are too good ie the material that they're stamped out of is a slightly thicker plate & are too hard to crimp properly.

    Adding Second Dynon SV-100

    1. First thing is to add a Ethernet cable connected to both screens as the EMS & some other data will seemlessly transfer. 2. # 2 D1000 - make sure you configure the serial ports same as #1 & the software vers is the same plus any mapping/databases. 3. When both are 'setup' (no need to do...

    Another jittery Tach

I'd confirm the PPR is correct for your engine type/number of cylinders. Increasing the resistence is most likely not what to do especially if the rpm was working well before the update.

What is default squelch setting of SV-COM-C25?

Hi Steve I'd fix the antenna connections first, hopefully the Dynon transmitter has not been damaged.  Generally if you transmit without an antenna connected ( centre pin 'retracted' in your case) or a dummy load fitted there can be damage, the RF energy has to go somewhere & basically that...

What is default squelch setting of SV-COM-C25?

So glad you found the problem &, as discussed offline, the issue can be caused by other power supplies like USB's.  That's why it's important to turn everything off then turn on one item at a time to determine the cause of the interference  ;)

    Radio interference from SV-EMS-220

Contact DS direct - there was an issue with some earlier EMS modules & it will need to be returned to factory, or you may try using these http://www.l-com.com/d-sub-capacitive-filter-emc-adapter-db9-male-female (25 pin as well) filtered Dsub connectors however IMO it's better to have Dynon fix...

    A couple of basic questions.

I don't think so - I'd just connect the network cable & Dynon GPS to give fuel at waypoint etc functions as a minimum. DS may add more info.

Aha, now we know the main issue here regardless of whether you have the correct sensor or not. Read the install instructions  & refer to my post # 12 above - connect the sensor power wire to the 5 volt  white/red striped wire from the EMS module  ::) FYI - generally sensor red wires are for...

What is the voltage on the red wire at the sensor ?

Just had a wild thought - did you connect the Fuel Flow or other 12 volt wire to it ? The White/ red stripe 5volt wire is the only one to use.

    Dynon Skyview "EMS Failure"

Ron, FWIW - there is something else going on with your system, probably a wiring issue IMO. There is absolutely no need to add resistors to the P-Mag tach outputs from my experience with having installed many of them.

I'd be checking the sensor wire ( not the 5volt or ground) carefully, make sure the pin is pushed fully home in the 37pin connector on the EMS module. HTH
