Oil (& Fuel Pressure) sensors use Pin 18 (5 volts) to the red wire of the sensor - it's all in the Install Manual, please read it caefully ;)

I'd confirm the PPR is correct for your engine type/number of cylinders. Increasing the resistence is most likely not what to do especially if the rpm was working well before the update.

So glad you found the problem &, as discussed offline, the issue can be caused by other power supplies like USB's.  That's why it's important to turn everything off then turn on one item at a time to determine the cause of the interference  ;)

Contact DS direct - there was an issue with some earlier EMS modules & it will need to be returned to factory, or you may try using these http://www.l-com.com/d-sub-capacitive-filter-emc-adapter-db9-male-female (25 pin as well) filtered Dsub connectors however IMO it's better to have Dynon fix...

I don't think so - I'd just connect the network cable & Dynon GPS to give fuel at waypoint etc functions as a minimum. DS may add more info.

What is the voltage on the red wire at the sensor ?

Just had a wild thought - did you connect the Fuel Flow or other 12 volt wire to it ? The White/ red stripe 5volt wire is the only one to use.

Ron, FWIW - there is something else going on with your system, probably a wiring issue IMO. There is absolutely no need to add resistors to the P-Mag tach outputs from my experience with having installed many of them.

I'd be checking the sensor wire ( not the 5volt or ground) carefully, make sure the pin is pushed fully home in the 37pin connector on the EMS module. HTH
