    XPDR Caution

Steve Are you saying you have the Transponder powered up while cranking engine ?

    XPDR Caution

Steve Just off nominal (lower power than required) during the check - it was just a thought anyway for your situation, didn't realise it's a hassle for you to get at.

    XPDR Caution

Steve A thought here - doublecheck that the TNC connector is screwed fully home & the pin is close to flush with the end of TNC - I found an 'issue' with mine while doing a Txpndr check, wasn't screwed in fully  ;)

Michael, you are correct with your first thought - the audio 'gurus' ie Ps-Engineering do it this way too ;) Jake J

    EMS wiring with VPX

I would think not however I'd just connect it to the bus after the master solenoid, no 'live' wires that way ;) Jake J

    Skyview PFD Behavior at Dusk

I certainly wouldn't fly IFR with a 'known' issue ::) that would be very irresponsible of me, IMO. Please be careful out there. Jake J

Certified GPS signal to the transponder SV-261

Roger Connect as per the Dynon install manual, Section 11 with diagram on page 11-8. ;) More specifically, one serial port from the GTN is used for this purpose. If you have an Arinc converter as well then another serial port is connected to that. HTH Jake J

    roll servo off line

    1. Do you have separate circuit breakers (or fuses etc) for the power wires for the Com, Transponder & Autopilot servos ? 2. If NO to any of the above, how did you wire them ? 3. Did you connect the Servo harnesses directly between the servos & the hub ? If YES then that is one issue that...

    roll servo off line

Tracy Try powering up the autopilot system after engine start (you may already be doing this) & then see if the autopilot stays on line, that may be helpful to know. I've known of 'faults' with network items having issues due to the voltage 'spike' when starting the engine. Can happen to...

    Duel Shunt

Frank If you do not need both alternators on at the same time, & I'm figuring you don't, this is how I do it  :) Run both alternator B leads through ANL fuses & then to the same side of the shunt (1 shunt only needed). Wire both field wire circuits through a DPDT switch (ON-OFF-ON toggle type...

    Wiring resistive fuel level senders

Fuel level sensors (float type) The wires from the EMS module should go direct to the sensor, they measure resistance - DO NOT connect to power or you will have an explosive event. You can connect a ground wire to the sensor however the airframe is a suitable ground as the body of the sensor is...

    roll servo off line

Just out of curiosity, what type of circuit breaker & how old ?  I have seen avionics go 'offline' due to circuit breakers having a high internal resistance causing an offline event but not physically popping.  A simple check would be to use another breaker or temp hardwire ( with inline fuse)...

    Wiring resistive fuel level senders

AAflyer Resistive sensors - Yes, use the EMS wires for the required functions as per install manual. NO power required. Pitot Status wire goes to a 'contact' function in the EMS & same reference applies. Capacitive Fuel sensors - use pins as decribed in the manual & the power can be spliced...

    upgrade path

If you just want a basic system then the Autopilot functions can be done with the Skyview & sell the AP74. However if you want to have the a/pilot control to be separate then you will need the SV-AP-PANEL,another feature of this unit is it allows the 'Panel' to do "auto trimming" of the...

    GTN-625 connection to D-180

    What I would do is connect pins 10, 29, 48,67 & 8 at P1001 (GTN) to the HS34  ie GTN       HS34 10          23 29          11 48          24 67          12 8            pin 2 (serial 2 RX) (on Male) DB25 HTH Jake J

    Serial for the GTN650 vs SL40 ?

Keith No need to connect direct to a SV serial port, just wasting it for no benefit. Connect the 650 direct to the Arinc Converter as per install manual however anotherserial port on the 650 needs to connect (with a 1.21k resistor) to the Tranponder direct. Set that 650 serial to Garmin ADSB +...
