What people want & what they use can be 2 different things, eg I know of several who have the Fuel Flow option but haven't actually used it - go figure !! ::) Jake J

    Flo-Scan Fuel Flow Sender

Go for it, IMO the EI is a better unit however the Flowscan will work just fine :) Jake J

How short can the tubing be cut on a heated pitot?

6 inches is not a problem at all, just make sure the plastic tubing doesn't kink ;) Jake J

What else is required to be IFR legal

I fully agree, the sooner someone else starts the revolution the better, then I'm done with Garmin - never liked those sorts of monopolies anyway. 8-)

    Roll Calibration of Skyview PFD

Looks like that is the answer, is your digital level out of cal? FYI - I use the wingtips as a reference point, much more accurate IMO. ;) Jake J

    Roll Calibration of Skyview PFD

just have to ask (don't take offence).... did you level the wings or just assume it was level with the floor ? ;) Jake J

Lost NAVSRC worse after upgrade to 5.4

Hey Jake, I use the VHF out to drive frequency select on my SL40 comm.  I like that feature.  I could change it for a while to see if it has an effect if Dynon thought it may play a role.  I also drive my ELT-04 with the same data and it doesn't seem to care either. Thanks, Ted My...

    Wiring (RF interference) question

Bill Sure helps knowing that :)  would have asked more pertinent questions earlier if I had known  ;) The symptoms you were/are seeing would not have made sense IF the plane was outside the building - this may be an opportunity, for those not flying yet, to point out that there can be 'issues'...

    IAS too high

    T. This may be helpful from earlier this year, note the last sentence --- Groundspeed displayed on your GPS or on the Dynon is purely from the GPS. Technically modern receivers calculate this from Doppler shifts, not from two position solutions over X time, but the effect is the same. The wind...

Lost NAVSRC worse after upgrade to 5.4

Foxflier I haven't used a 695/6 for a while but did you try changing the output to just NMEA & not NMEA/VHF out ? just a thought - that may work ;) worth a try ?? Jake J

    Wiring (RF interference) question

Bill GET THE PLANE OUTSIDE THE BUILDING then tell us if you still have an issue.  I can't believe I missed that, probably was lead astray by your "I'm an engineer" quote :-? Jake J

Lost connection to efis 100 to Garm 496

    ADHRS location

My GX60 Gps antenna is just underneath the skin (without removing any foam) near the dorsal fin, has worked just fine for 14 years ;) Jake J

    Zaon TAWS icon failure

DS - BGK had his Zaon displaying just fine before I did a major upgrade to his wiring including adding the VP-X system. His serial port input is working with the numbers incrementing as expected but no traffic shown - the only thing I know that has changed is that he upgraded the database...

    ADHRS location

mmarien some can't do that due location of trim motor :) Jake J

    ADHRS location

Don I'm a Glasair owner/builder - I'd mount the ADAHRS on LHS of aft fuselage ie away from gear pump & it's solenoids etc, also try & get them as far away as possible from the trim springs & trim motor - a third of the way up the fuselage side may be a good spot  ;) HTH Jake J

    New SkyView COM Radio

Incorrect - you can use them however there is no requirement for 8.33 spacing. Just wondering who you are & where you get this erroneous & misleading info ? :-? Please understand, I'm not wanting to 'flame' you but you need to get the facts right ;) Jake J

    New SkyView COM Radio

not quite correct, sorry - it's our communications authority who approve radios of all types here, just like in the USA.  A TSO'd radio is required for IFR, that's CASA's regulation  ;) Jake J
