    Always shows a headwind

You have possibly one of or all of the following that need correction ASAP. Especially if you operate in busy or controlled airspace. 1. OAT error. I see this ALL the time. The manual needs to get more demanding on people. If your OAT probe is not out in clear air, move it there. The wing...

OAT installation on the flightdeck d180

The 4 wires are power/ground/2xdata. What more do you need? The OAT is the other three. You would think after 17 years if the manual was wrong it would be fixed??? The manual is correct. Follow it.

    USB socket

Probably so. Never tried it. You do have one in the harness as well. :-)

2 level sensors in one tank

Just measure the lower half only. You do not need to know the top half. Even if you think that you do, you really do not. Trust me ;-) You will have a tenable and very accurate fuel totaliser which is what you actually use. The top half of the tank is irrelevant, it is the bottom half that you...

AITHRE SHIELD EX 2.0 EMS Wiring

You need to use one of the enhanced inputs. This is an analogue input. They are Pin 8, 22, 23, or 31 on the EMS 37 Pin connector. Set up the widget as follows. EXCEPT.....Make it SELF-CLEAR, because you want the warning to alert you. Not off. You can use any style you like. I prefer just the...

    VSI Indication operating too slow

Sounds like water in a low spot or a bug has built a nest.

Not yet, I have no control over that.

Getting approaches into the flight plan

You can have VNAV to a user nominated altitude and a X degree flight path or VS .........BUT this is not in any way certified, it is meant for VFR use only.

Getting approaches into the flight plan

I gather you are not flying an IFR aircraft with a IFR certified navigator? If you were or are, then you select the approach in the GTN/GNS/IFD device and it will cross fill to the SV map and HSI. Unless the Skyview GPS becomes available as a TSO146 Navigator, and the database becomes coded...

    Suggestion For Thermocouple Connectors???

The EI Overlap is what I use. They just work. Jake uses AMP terminals (as do I for everything else) and my reasoning for not using them on the thermocouples is they are damned near impossible to remove if you have to change a probe. Now that is a good feature, because the AMP terminals really...

    2 independant Fuel flow sensors

Even if you can, why? Do you have level sensors in each tank? On most aircraft they are very good, and what you need to know is total remaining. If you are doing a long range mission, run the tanks down in 20 or 30L increments using the fuel timer (by volume not time) and then when say you...

Any Lycoming IO-540 Drivers With A FLOSCAN 201B Out There???

Ours started life at 30350, I think it is now in the high 29XXX range. As jake suggested start around there and do the maths later.

    Wild Oscillating RPM

Hahahaha.......it was just a coil failure, shortly after starting a 160nm trek over water. No big deal. Ya funny bugger ;-)

My experience with many RV10's is 100K ohms is necessary.

ARINC-429 dropouts are still a problem that has not been addressed - or even acknowledged.

I assume nothing. When you deal with lots of people and their problems you MUST fault find with the common problems. If I did not ask the questions how could you expect anyone to assume things are 100%..........You never specified all these things in your opening post did you? I hope you solve...

ARINC-429 dropouts are still a problem that has not been addressed - or even acknowledged.

NO.......all those points are not indicative of a fault with the 430W. They are things you need to be aware in installations. I have seen the odd flicker of the HSI over time in the years past but I must say since Dynon hopefully fixed it, I have not seen it so far. I have NEVER had the...

ARINC-429 dropouts are still a problem that has not been addressed - or even acknowledged.

So my wild guess was something like a fellow down here has been suffering. Whenever he was tuned to (not transmitting) 121.20MHZ satellite coverage would falter. The frequencies Garmin know to be an issue are 121.15 MHz 131.22 MHz 121.17 MHz 131.25 MHz 121.20 MHz 131.27 MHz 121.22 MHz 131.30...

    NO ADS-B OUT: GPS LOST

Did you set the Serial Port 5 to be the 2020 unit instead of the 250?

ARINC-429 dropouts are still a problem that has not been addressed - or even acknowledged.

Here is a question for you.....and you may have to think back to what frequency the GTN/GNS/IFD was tuned to at the time. What were you tuned to on your GPS/COM. I think I might have the answer, which may start a long thread of things.
