You could use a biased switch so that the amps show for #2 Alt and momentarily hold the switch for checking #1 Alt. So this situation will result in the Dynon showing system volts ( from 1 & 2 alt) however the Alternator warning light (on #1) will indicate a failure and the Amps indication...

Normally you don't need a separate static connection, just tee into what you have.  However not all static systems are equal ie there can be variances in the system whether they be builder induced or be a product of the aircraft design.   A simple check, and this applies to all Alt Hold...

Some avionics, eg MX20 MFD, not only display AGL but give a Terrain Warning when you're within 2 minutes (based on ground speed & 500 feet above) of terrain ahead. I'm assuming ,and hope, that the Skyview will do this sometime in the future ;) Jake J

It's worse than you think David - the LAA charges heaps for everything they do. From my reading of their magazine it appears every mod or change, to an aircraft, has to be approved by them (and charged for). "We" don't want to go down that path.

But did you configure the output of the 695 ? ;)

Bill If you have an audio panel then you could use a spare 'switched' input. maybe a second Nav or ADF position.
