    EGT Sensor Problem

Ok - I think I fried them all. Last one was working a few minutes ago and now it's fried. I might have considered a wiring problem, but since the CHT and EGT wires are next to each other (CHT4 wire is D25p6 and the EGT4 wire is D25p7) I would have thought I'd have a CHT failure and then an EGT...

    SV700 FONT SIZE & CONTRAST

    For me the solution was sunglasses with reading glasses at the bottom. But then that is just me. There is some talk on this forum about tweaking the map colors and settings in the settings file. Export your settings and have a look. Starts at map_bling={

    Autopilot install

Good advise Jake. One thing I found about my Glasair II is that the AP pitch is rarely happy. The worst case is when the CG is about the middle - pilot and half fuel. Unless it's perfectly smooth air, the AP does a lot of complaining about trimming up or down, and the aircraft does a lot of...

    Uncommanded turns

I had a problem where my plane would pitch up unexpectedly. It turned out the servo was fried. I upgraded to a bigger servo. However, I do get uncommanded turns all the time, but in my case there are several causes. [list bull-blacksq]It happens when I engage the AP at a different point then...

    Approach "Not recieving Transponder recycle..."

The question I would have then, does a small ground plane still work at all angles? I can see that a metal fuselage is a big target at any angle. But does a small 12 centimetre ground plane still work if it's viewed from the edge?

    Documentation for the .dfg file

lalnaes. You're right, the Y coordinate is from the bottom. I'll amend that. Richard. I haven't tried anything in the default section. That would be great if we could scroll through the arc thicknesses. If you find anything out there let us know. I might try some stuff there when I get a chance.

    Documentation for the .dfg file

I started some documentation but it's pretty unpolished. You can download a PDF here: http://www.digitalmapping.sk.ca/EMS_Gauges.pdf When I get some time I may add it to wiki.

    Approach "Not recieving Transponder recycle..."

As I understand an antenna needs a metal ground plane with the size based on the frequency of the transmissions. In a metal aircraft the entire aircraft is a ground plane. In a composite aircraft there basically isn't a ground plane as there is no metal. A ground plane can be added. See this...

    SkyView 4.0 Now Available!

rickw I'm using the PocketFMS for Canadian av data and it has a set of files for 3.0 and one for 4.0 so I suspect there has been a change in the format of the files. See reply #66 above.

    Approach "Not recieving Transponder recycle..."

I agree. The success of ATC reading my xponder has a lot to do with the position and direction of my aircraft in relation to the radar ground station as noted in reply #1 to this post. I know for a fact that when the airport is at my twelve to two o'clock they will have a problem regardless of...

    Autopilot wiring

I used a terminal block to splice my servos into the network cable and it works fine. It's also a good place to connect the power and CWS. Dynon also has the SV-NET-HUB with five ports.

GPS RS 232 output and your ELT

SPOT is good other than it has to be manually activated. As a surveyor with robotic total stations and RTK GPS I tend to work by myself in remote areas. The SPOT was a good solution for my wife's anxiety. I can push the OK button at regular intervals to let her know where I am and that I'm OK...

Major rivers have always been there on my map. There now are creeks. The first picture is before 4.0. Next is 4.0 with creeks, roads and cities. The map is missing a lot of towns in Canada but much better then none. Nice job on the new base map. I not sure about the new depiction of the air...

GPS RS 232 output and your ELT

Given that for Dynon to certify their equipment may cost millions, and a certified GPS would cost a few thousand, your best solution may be to replace your ELT with something that is compatible with your equipment. I did the research and picked up an ACK 406 ELT for $800 which I intent on...
