CHT settings - EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION

Interesting comments. From a Lycoming Key Operations Flyer: http://www.lycoming.com/support/tips-advice/key-reprints/pdfs/Key%20Operations.pdf Personally my top yellow is 210C - 225C which is within Lycoming recommendations. You'll find articles showing that at high tempuratures the strength...

    v3.3 audio

Same here. I have an MP3 player that I connect but don't always use it. I think while there is sound the hum is suppressed. The MP3 player provides continuous sound. Skyview and the GPS495 don't. If the hum get too annoying I just blow in the mic and the hum quits for a moment, but then starts...

    Upgrade to 3.3

I think the red X means it not seeing the ADAHRS (PDF page) or GPS (MAP page) or EMS (ENGINE page. Are they connected? That may be why it's not rebooting. It doesn't have any devices to update.

    v3.3 audio

The Tick Thanks for the comments. I'm pretty much convinced that the PM1200 is at fault here. I have my panel out again for other reasons but am going to try connecting SV and GPS495 directly to my iCOM A210 audio pins to see what that accomplishes. Page 26 of the iCOM manual discusses settings...

    Upgrade to 3.3

Carl - The firmware file is the same in both places. If one of the other files is affected by the update I believe it will be mentioned in the quick update section. Personally I scan through the full update once in a while to make sure I have the latest files. Surfboy - Skyview reboots in...

Hub at the back of the plane...

The wiring guide starts on page 10-9 of the install manual. My servos come with bare wires. I cut into the network cable to the ADAHRS and used a terminal block to splice in the four wires for both servos. The rest of the network cable to the ADAHRS I left untouched.

    Downloading Data

Appendix E of the install manual has a description of the data streams available from the Skyview.

    Extra wires

Definitely a good idea to keep good notes. I used the worksheet at the back of the installation manual. When I found the wires I removed they matched up with the little "x" I placed next to the pin number on the worksheet. Go figure eh? I just have to be explicit with my notes. ::)

    Output Contact

I second that.  :) I know a simple function that would work for you with one condition only. Set your fuel pressure to cause a ALARM when it goes below 4psi. Then connect your relay to EMS D37 pin 29, the optional external alarm light. Your fuel pump will come on anytime there is low fuel...

    New Trig Radio

That is an interesting comment. I was looking at my panel and it's becoming more blank as I progress. I started with a classic Glasair which has four separate panels; flight gauges, radio stack, engine gauges and breaker panel. Well five if you count the small one on the extreme left. It had the...

    Warning Lights

I've been experimenting with the ENGINE page again. I added some contacts and have been struggling with the contact widget. A couple of things I discovered. If you remove the name from the pin in the section where you set the ranges it makes a better display in some cases. Good candidates are...

    Extra wires

Figured it out. I remembered removing the pins from the SV D37 harness by the method noted above, but didn't remember removing them from the EMS D37 harness. After I posted that message I found the pins with wires from the EMS D37 harness so at some point I did removed them. My apologies for...

    v3.3 audio

I fired up SV v3.3 after a 3 month upgrade including converting to VP-X. I connected the audio to my PM1200 but I'm getting the same background noise as I was getting with my GPS495 connected to the PM1200. :( When there is a transmission (eg SV voice/GPS voice/radio or my voice) the background...

    Extra wires

Thanks Jake. Noted for future. If the pins won't stay in I can always replace the DSub.

    Extra wires

I removed the USB and all the "Do Not Connect" pins on the SV D37 harness. The SV D37 is a female plug so I just used a small metal rod that fit into the hole and with a little pressure pushed the pin out the back. So I have the wire and pin intact and can install it if I need it again...

    Regulated altitude

The pitch trim on my Glasair II is just a spring, but the Skyview AP holds the altitude OK. It show TRIM if it's working against the trim spring and SLIP if the trim is out of wack.

It's addictive. I just have to have more stuff on the screen. Can hardly wait for the next version. :-/

Connecting the Efis to a 12volt Battery - Mistake?

If you just connected the EFIS without anything (ADAHRS/EMS/GPS) connected it will just show red "X"s on all the pages. There is a cable with the system to connect the EMS or ADAHRS and if you have the SV-GPS-250 it can be connected to the Skyview harness so you will be able to see some of the...

    v3.3 audio

I might give it a try. I had the GPS495 connected to my PM1200 but it created a background buzz. I'm going to connect SV to the PM1200 but will be looking for alternatives if the background buzz is still there.
