    Audio wires

I recently sent my Skyview in for the audio fix and got it back with all the feature licenses missing.  :-[ They obviously get extracted along with the audio problem - just kidding. I was able to find the emails with the licenses and reloaded them. I also had to reload the Jeppesen database...

    V3.3

bignose. Try the manual. Start at page 7-35 of the Pilots user Guide. Also page 7-27 for temporary waypoints. Great job on the navigation software Dynon. I like the choice of format for the waypoint import. :)

    SL 40 to Skyview

Nope. I believe it's a future enhancement when Dynon brings out their own radio. You currently can get the frequencies sent to SL30/40 from one of the Garmin handheld GPS devices.

Update on CHT & EGT jumping when I press the PTT

Thanks Jake. I'll give that a try. I made my panel removable with just a couple of plugs so that I could work behind it. I put all the panel connections on VP-X J2 and J8 plus one other plug. Panel is removable in about 15-20 minutes. If you're doing an upgrade it's worth the effort.

Update on CHT & EGT jumping when I press the PTT

This was discussed in other threads without a solution. Just as a note, my analog gauges did the same thing before I installed Skyview. A couple of years ago I replaced all the panel wiring with the Skyview update and have the same problem. I'm giving it another try with the upgrade to VP-X and...

dual pmag conection to SV EMS.from newest SV owner

I don't have the GND wire to the EFIS and don't have any signal problems with the tach output. This is new since my manual LC114v13. Grounding is the most important connection so if there were problems with the tach signal the extra ground wouldn't hurt. I did add a serial connection to pins 2...

    Warning Lights

I was reading through the info for my ECU and a capacitive type fuel probe, both of which have options for a warning light. The fuel probe has a wire to turn on a light when the fuel hits a preset point to warn about low fuel. The ECU has the same function if there is an internal error. It's...

    Fuel level configuration

I checked with Todd Stehouwer at Princton and he said that the probe draws about 0.02 amps at 12V. They also have one with 1 set point for computer based displays. This is new from the last time I looked. The set points are to calibrate the fuel level. I assumed that that meant the calibration...

    Fuel level configuration

Thanks for the suggestion. I did look at the Princeton and it does output 0-5V. I also looked the calibration. The instructions from one source was to set the empty tank in open air (0V) and the full tank (5V) with the probe fully submerged in fuel. This would give it linear readings. The Dynon...

    Fuel level configuration

On the subject of fuel level probes, I was looking at change my float type sender to a capacitive fuel lever sender for a couple of reasons and was looking for some advice. The float type sender I have doesn't read the bottom 40 litres. At 30 litres per hour that leaves over an hour of unusable...

    SV-XPNDR and GTX-327 integration/parallel operatio

The Garmin GTX330 is a mode S transponder in a GTX327 package. Same functions as the SV-XPNDR but looks like the GTX327. Little heftier price though.

    In flight entertainment

I'd say it technically possible for the passenger to watch a movie, but probably not on the Skyview. While the Skyview looks similar to a TV it's probably missing the interfacing to be able to accept DVD input. In another thread they discussed placing a monitor in the back seat fed by the front...

Serial port configuration for Garmin aera

On my Garmin handheld (GPS495) I have "TIS In/NMEA & VHF Out". I get traffic (TIS In) from my ZAON displayed on the Garmin. The ZAON TX is split between the Skyview RX and Garmin RX so I get traffic on both. I'm not sure what "Aviation In" does for the Garmin GPS handheld. I don't have anything...

dual pmag conection to SV EMS.from newest SV owner

I have dual P-Mags and have both connected. As mentioned above, the signal doesn't go away when you ground it out (mag check) but having both connected allows some redundancy. While you asking, be sure to mention it would be nice to be able to display the firing angle on Skyview.

    ZAON XRX Pinout

What's the odds of two RX wires in the SV harness connected wrong?!? :-? I see you asked the question, but did you check the harness to see that the wires are actually connected to the proper pin on the D37? That would be the only thing left to check.

Red Cube Fuel Flow transducer installation

I have my fuel flow (red cube) between the two pumps. The only thing you will notice is that the fuel flow goes up until the fuel pressure maxes out when you turn on the boost pump.

    Airspace display & SYNVISION

In the prairies there is not a lot of clutter on the synthetic vision screen unless you're low enough to make obstacles appear. Also if you are close enough to see a runway in synthetic vision then you would be in the middle of the highest class airspace so it would block any other airspace...
