    Screen flicker

Flicker is usually an indication of low battery. Did it stop flickering after engine start or on it's own? Could also be a loose connection.

    SV altitude encoder data

The transponder displays pressure altitude and Skyview shows density altitude. Set the BARO to 29.92 and the altitude shown on Skyview will be the same as the transponder.

    Custom Sensor Installations

It has the same function as temperature, pressure or volts. If it's not in the green there is a problem that needs to be rectified. Not a big deal with mags as it should always be 26 degrees, but more so with variable timing that's available with electronic ignition. It that "experimental" thing.

    v3.3 audio

Does anybody know what the audio inputs are used for on the iCOM A210. and can Skyview be connected directly to them?

    Backup battery inoperative

Any chance of an info widget using any of the gauges that can be placed on the ENG page to display the backup battery condition? - percentage wise rather than voltage.  :-? I guess it don't matter if it can use one of the gauges it can show an in the green area.

    weight and balance

When your passenger shows up with that extra baggage it's nice to be able to point out on an authoritative screen why it won't fit. ;) I think we were all taught pre flight planning at the desk simply because it wasn't available in the cockpit previously. And I agree, I still do multi leg/day...

    weight and balance

While weight and balance aren't as high on my list as check lists, I think the time of pen and paper flight planning done at the kitchen table is gone with steam gauges. I'll admit that weight and balance for some pilots consists of looking over your passenger and thinking "hell, I've carried...

    Contact inputs on SV harness

Thanks. I did go down to the electronics shop and they worked out what I needed to do, but this is a lot simpler method.

    Pos-12 Ray Allen wiring question

It needs +5V and GND on the other two lines. I don't think it matters which is +5V and which is GND, except the white/green is the sense. If you get them backwards it will just have a high to low output rather than low to high. See page 7-41, second last paragraph of the SV Installation Manual.

    Marking a Waypoint while flying

Good point. If you use it frequently it would be like remembering the 1-2-5 screen shot combination. Or is that 2-7? ::)

    Marking a Waypoint while flying

I don't use it a lot either, but when I overfly something that I might want to return to or report, I'd be long past if I had to dig through a menu to mark it. It probably doesn't need to be a primary button, but doubling up buttons (ie: holding the DTO button brings up the nearest list) may be...

    Tachometer/RPM

On the E-Mags there is a 12V tach signal in addition to the P-Leads. I just connected it to the regular EMS pins 32/33 without the resistor. Since each E-Mag puts out the signal you can connect each one to a EMS pin, but the signal is available even when the P-Lead is grounded. EMS pins 34/35...

    Marking a Waypoint while flying

Another method would be to hold a button for "Make Waypoint" much like the Page/Enter/NRST button on Garmin handhelds become Mode/Mark/Find if you hold them down for a second.

    Contact inputs on SV harness

I'm trying to figure this out for my device. I have a toggle switch (ON - OFF) with an indicator LED that controls a relay that switches between pumps. On the (SPDT) relay NC is pump #1. NO is pump #2. The toggle switch is powered (12V - 1A fuse). Switching the toggle switch ON lights up the LED...

    V3.3

If you want an accurate compass, it needs to be accurate. I believe it will takes the four directions as gospel and adjust the ADAHRS compass accordingly.

    SV transponder on which bus

Logically the transponder is on the avionics bus but see this discussion. http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1331397355

Skyview + Vertical Power Wiring for Vans RV6

I believe Dynon states that the SV is robust enough to be on during engine start. I have mine on during start. What you might want to do is have the SV-BAT-320 backup battery so that the SV will stay on if the starter draws the voltage too low. On my system, SV reboots on engine start if I don't...

    Noise

That's interesting as PS Engineering takes great pains to isolate the headset plugs from everyting with rubber washers but they didn't say anything about the music jack. I had them supply the harness with my PM1200 (no warranty if they don't) with the plugs but I don't remember the music plug...

    Audio wires

Jake. Are you connecting to an iCOM A210? or to the PM1200? or something else? Carl. Do you happen to have any of the Garmin handheld GPS units connected to the GMA240? I believe this thread determined that there was a problem in connecting the GPS495 to the PM1200 but I don't know if we...
