    Unstable Readings

I will check the grounding. The grounding was what I was thinking because during the no activity with the plane there was a great deal of rain, but the plane was in the hangar. Due to all the rain, I thought corrosion may be an issue. I am not sure on the current because one item that I was...

    Unstable Readings

I had not flown my plane for about 7 months. Finally did a flight and RPM, Fuel Pressure, Oil Temp and Battery Voltage were all over the place. With the RPM, once I go from full throttle to about 2300 RPM, RPM was stable. The others continue to be unstable. Any ideas?

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

My point was that I used an ohm meter to ohm out from the D37 connector pin 24 to one side of the shunt and from D37 connector pin 25 to the other side of the shunt. In each case the reading was zero ohms. I also connected the 2 wires together and the Skyview did not display 0 AMPs. If there...

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

In my case it has to be an issue with the EMS because I have D37-24 wire (Orange/Green) and D37-25 wire (Orange/Purple) connected to the shunt via a 1 AMP fuse in series. I checked with an ohm meter to make sure that they were not shorted to each other or something else and I also checked with...

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

I have always suspected the EMM or the shunt. For my next test I was going to try a different shunt with and external amp meter connected the same why as the Skyview shunt to see if that works. But it will be a while before I get back to my hanger due to being out of the state where my plane...

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

Due to business it will be another month before I get a chance to work on the plane again and take a photo. But let me try and explain. One end of the shunt is connected to the wire that goes to the alternator. This side of the shunt connects to D37 pin 24 with a 1 AMP fuse in series. The...

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

Unplugged D37 and just get --- AMPS with the graphic bar x out. Reconnected the wires to the shunt and now the display has --- AMPS with the graphic bar x out. Thank you.

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

Today I checked the wires and they are going to the correct pin location. I also checked to see if they were shorted to ground and they were not. I will power up the unit with D37 unplugged and see what the AMP reading is. Thank you.

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

Correct, I connected pins 24 and 25 w/o the shunt and I am not getting zero amps. Everything else in the EMS is working. The Skyview system and the EMS are sharing the same ground. Thank you.

AMP Reading not Working - Skyview

AMP reading not working. I have the shunt that I bought from Dynon and the connection is made with pin 24 & 25 of the D37 connector. Most of the times it shows 94 AMPS and some times just dashes. I tied the wired for pin 24 & 25 together expecting to read 0 AMPS, but it was still 94 AMPS...

Help. First Engine Start and a Couple of Issues

Connecting the brown wire of the Laser to the low voltage Tach pin 35 worked. My RPM is now working. Thank you.

    AMP Measurement Not Working Correctly

Will try this weekend when I am back at the hanger. Thank you.

    AMP Measurement Not Working Correctly

The current (AMP) display is not working correctly. It is reading 94 AMPS and I know that is not correct because if it was, the breaker would trip. I have the shunt connected between the alternator and the aircraft load. On one side of the shunt I have the EMS-37 pin 24 (orange/green) wire...

Help. First Engine Start and a Couple of Issues

I checked the Tach/Rev setting again and it is actually set to 00001.0. I still need to get the RPM and AMP working.

Help. First Engine Start and a Couple of Issues

I turned on the engine on my RV-6A project for the first time and a couple of thinngs are not displaying correctly on the Skyview display. First, RPM reads 0. I have a Laser Ignition (PN LC-1001-04) for a Lycoming fuel injected O 360 A1A. I connected the EMS DB37 connector Pin 32...

    Tachometer/RPM

Thank you. Connected directly (no resistors) to the low voltage pins 34 (Left RPM) and 35 (Right RPM) of the EMS D37 connector.

    Tachometer/RPM

I have a Lasar Electronic ignition installed in my RV-6A project. I have not installed the engine eyt, but want to make sure that I am wiring the EMS-220 correctly. I currently have the Right and Left p-leads conneted the EMS D37 connector pins 32 and 33 through a 30K ohm resistor. I noticed...
