In the past I never had to select the 430W or the Skyview as the source. I only had to make a selection of "HSI" once I had the Auto Pilot engaged and I wanted it to follow the 430W. Something is different after I loaded the 16.0.1 SW package from March 25, 2021.

Looking for the magenta line. It shows up on my initial "Direct To", but if I make a change while in flight and say "Direct To" another airport, it will not show the magenta line until I go to the 430W config it for "Direct To".
