Bench testing a Transponder is for checking serviceability & after repairs, testing of the complete Transponder system, ie Txpdr & Encoder etc, for power output & other specs can only be done in the aircraft to comply with your FARs or our AD's every 2 years ;) Ps - if you get caught here...

Trust me HiGeez, I understand your pain but you will find the cause of the issues you are having :) I think Dynon did say they are having a 'break' from Dec 25th through to Jan 1st  ;) Another thought (& I may have missed this) did you try changing over the servos to prove where the problem is...

Just a thought .... Did you fabricate, or wire up any of the 9 pin dsub connectors for the network cables ? Does the wiring go to a hub or soldered connection ? :) Jake J

Willi FWIW - I use one of the Alternator output wires as per the Dynon SV manual - works well however you may need to add a resistor to it to 'stabilise' thye rpm at high revs :) Jake J

Aaah the #3 file (Warning/Alert Area Graphics) which wasn't there before ver 5.0 download trick, maybe that's the reason - we'll advise soon. ::) Jake J

For users in OZ with Jepps database - This may be coincidental, & may have been due to something else, but after uploading 5.0 we noticed CTA airspace rings are missing eg YPAD DME 11, 20, 36 etc - same applies to YMML. All other airspace areas seem to be ok. Can you check your system please...

Just a thought - I'd temporarily remove the disconnect wire, also check the power at servo connector with a DMM between the power/ground pins ie not back to the ground bus. Did the system work before vers 5.0 ? If not, can you load 4.1 & retry ? ;) Jake J

With the apparent massive (anecdotal) use of IPad as an aid to aviation maybe Dynon should look at offering the D700 in portrait mode (as opposed to landscape) to give more panel space for the IPad ? especially for dual SV installations. 8-) Jake J

The EGTs are fairly robust however they could be accidently damaged (though I don't know of this happening) but unlikely IMO. Most of the 'issues' are to do with the connections at probe side or other side, sometimes the pins retract at the SV EMS end. Some of the earlier ? probes had a single...
