Printing and Saving Changes to Installation Manual

I also vote for what Mr Bogash says. The military uses that method also and makes it easy to see what changed. Looking it up electronically is preferred. Having that "List of Effective Pages" and the change bars is what makes it work.

    (Rare) "Cross-check Attitude"

I have seen this happen in the chocks myself. If I remember correctly, it was gusty so airspeed indication came and went and GPS was inconsistent for a bit. Support, does that sound right as a scenario?

Erroneous Compass Readings With Heated Pitot/AOA

I have always had the compass swing left about 12 degrees whenever the Pitot heat cycled on. Finally, I trouble shot this to root cause this week and eliminated the problem completely. The problem occurred because my airframe is all composite and I had installed all aluminum lines between the...

    Skyview 5.1 Map data

Support, I uploaded the new Av and Ob data for the Mar cycle today and my screen said expired Av data before I did it. Upload went fine.

    Skyview 5.1 Map data

Allan, Use the menu to check what Av Database is now installed. I will bet it reverted to 1302, the Feb release. If you loaded Skywiew 5.1 via "Method 1" using the ...duc file, that explains why. Av data 1302 was bundled into vers 5.1 cause it was the most current when 5.1 was released...

Wind Direction and Velocity on the PFD

Support, I thought that was the case, so I started looking again at the ADAHRS physical installation and then I will repeat the compass calibration. I leveled the aircraft and then checked the level of the ADAHRS to the A/C. The roll is about .4 degrees off. The pitch is off .1 degree or...

Wind Direction and Velocity on the PFD

Thanks. I agree on the wind calculations, but I thought groundspeed is purely the difference between GPS position measurements divided by a time interval. Most GPS receivers have no heading measurement input, so they can only deal with ground track, not heading.

Wind Direction and Velocity on the PFD

I performed the National Test Pilot School (NTPS) procedure to verify TAS. This is the three leg test where the aircraft is flown at constant power, airspeed, altitude over three GPS tracks while recording the GPS track and the GPS groundspeed values. These six values can be used to solve for...

H/W Update to the EMS and Probe Wire Routing

I have a Lancair with all the Skyview equipment except ADSB and have had "electrical noise" issues in the past. This resulted in breaking squelch on COMM radios and jumpy engine monitor values. I have all the Dynon network filters installed which helped a lot. I still had RPM/MAP jumping...

    Download problem

For the US, did you install the AV data 1302 revision or the equivalent for non-US? It is not in the 5.1 package.

Skyview vs Garmin GNS 400 series

Bruno, Since your GPS box would be close enough to be legal, what are you missing without remote annunciation? I don't have remote annunciation and everything is fine without it. Tom

Skyview vs Garmin GNS 400 series

Bruno, Some questions first: 1.  I assume you are talking about the rules for US IFR operation, right?  Because, I don't know them for other countries. 2.  Do you have a mechanical VOR/ILS indicator?  Because, the Garmin indicator, together with the 430 display, provide all the US required...

Skyview vs Garmin GNS 400 series

The answer will be interesting because my Skyview, 430W, ARINC-429 installation does not.

Skyview vs Garmin GNS 400 series

The answer is in the install manual for the Garmin 4XX. A diagram shows the maximum allowable distances from the Garmin to a point on the instrument panel directly in front of the pilot. If the radio is close enough to that point, then the built-in annunciators are good enough. Otherwise...

    Skyview size 10" or 7"?

Strongly concur with Jaffa. I have a 10" on pilot's side and a 7" on pax side in my Lancair 360. Put the 7" so I could have a glove box on pax side. Wish dearly I had put the 10" there also. The 7" is no good for me except engine instruments. It is fine for the pax.

AOA audio alert tones are not being generated.

I had a symptom where the AOA tones stopped working after many months of working normally. I was puzzled, but then noticed that the AOA icon was not visible either. I did an in-flight cAL and all returned to normal. Never did understand why the CAL was lost.

FPL Transfer/Sharing between G430W and Skyview

John S. has it exactly right. Another vote for cross fill from the primary IFR navigator to the Dynon system not the other way around.
