    ALT/Amps not showing anything

For a loadmeter indication (alternator output in amps) the main connections (big terminals) of the shunt should be in series with the alternator output wire. The 2 small terminals should be through fuses near the shunt and then go to the EMS. If either fuse is open, the amps will indicate off...

    Chasing altitude

It seems to me that after every SW update, the AP performance changes and the AP tuning needs to be rerun.

    SV-ADSB-472

I have the ADSB 472. It will display the location and relative altitude for any aircraft equipped with ADS-B Out. It doesn’t matter what transponder they are equipped with, as long as they have ADS-B Out. The 472 will provide data received either directly from the other aircraft or...

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

True, but I found that limiting roll angle reduced the rate of roll. Since the change is smaller the needed rate to get the desired change is less. If it doesn’t work for you, I would reduce gain. I fly an RV which has pretty responsive roll and found roll gain and sensitivity defaults to be...

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

No argumentthat standard rate varies, but we don’t have a choice to select that function for bank limiting. In my case, I limited to 17 degrees, which gives me standard rate at TAS of concern. Close enough for bank limiting. All of the points about standard rate calcs are pointless with...

Autopilot Rolls Into Turns Like A Fighter Pilot

I would also suggest setting the max bank angle to whatever is standard rate for your airplane. I started out with 30 degrees and foundit unacceptable. By changing the max roll all was good.

Can SkyView Power the ACK E04 Serial Interface?

As long as you have something from Dynon, you should be good to go.

Can SkyView Power the ACK E04 Serial Interface?

The HDX installation manual section 4.3.9.16 discusses the GPS output to an ELT. There doesn’t seem to be a provision for power to ELT. Any loading on the Dynon system regulated outputs that it was not designed for could compromise the system reliability and 40mA is not insignificant. The EMS...

An update on Dynon Certified projects

Dynon needs an FAA-ODA like Garmin has. That would help you control the schedules better.

Necessary Conditions to get ILS Glide Slope indicator to appear

My original post needs some clarification. The glideslope scale doesn’t appear unless you are tuned to a localizer with glideslope and a glideslope signal is detected. Once tuned to a valid localizer with glideslope, the scale appears, but the green line deviation indicator does not appear...

Necessary Conditions to get ILS Glide Slope indicator to appear

The bar won’t appear until you are inside of the max deflection. You may also need to capture from below as typical in all ILS approaches. If you flew the approach by the plate and didn’t see the bar something is wrong.

ForeFlight Will Not Connect To Panel

For me this showed up with the last IOS update. I suspect this is Foreflight/ IOS issue. If I fully close Foreflight and reopen, I usually solves this problem.

An update on Dynon Certified projects

Sounds like you have a bone to pick with AEA. It is a resource, you can choose to explore this resource to further your cause or not. However they have a history of making it easier to get avionics installed. Remember their biggest contributors are avionics manufacturers who want to sell...

An update on Dynon Certified projects

The organization that has been intimately involved with speeding up or reducing cert requirements is the AEA. They drovethebus on the part 23 rewrite andAML STCs for avionivsin small airplanes. Contact Ric Peri, RICP@AEA.net. I have worked Cert issues with them for years, Dynon is a member...

    FD/AP issue

I have had things happen when engaging lateral modes, that I shrugged off as pilot error until I recently decided to do some testing in an orderly fashion. I have had this problem with Ver 15 and Ver 16.0.4 SW. Below are the steps taken and the results which are not consistent with what I...

    InFLight Tuning diagnostics

I think that generally “twitchy” means, short term oscillations without the aircraft actually deviating much from the selected altitude. Imaging moving the stick in fast short motions without climbing or descending. Essentially, the AP is overreacting to small changes. As for your altitude...

    System Event 11

True, but system updates are only done when manually iniated, and not during flight. The USB isn’t required to be inserted during flight if you don’t use Seattle Avionics charts.

    System Event 11

I recently had a system event 11 and after sending in the diagnostic files was told that it was likely the USB. thumb drive. The unit went blank just after takeoff, displayed the error for 30 seconds or so then rebooted to a normal display and continued working normally ever since. If I was...
