Is there a typo in GPS chapter of SV Installation Guide?

Nope, the transmitter on one device goes to the receiver on the other. Think a speaker and listener.

Flight Director display without Autopilot Installed?

From my experience working AP certifications, the FD has to include the sensitivity and rates of the AP so that the command bars don‘t lag or be too jittery.

Is a Terrain Avoidance Warning Desirable?

Terrain aural alerts are a double edged sword. I fly with them from a Garmin 495. 98% of the time, I am aware of the obstacles and the warning is a nuisance. There has been once or twice that the warning made me aware of a tower that I didn’t have in my attention until the alert went off and...

Assign existing waypoint to Bearing Pointer[s]?

I get that you want to assign the pointer to a future waypoint in the flight plan, but that is not possible with this system.

Does the Skyview has airport map?

That is correct, the airport diagrams are from Seattle Avionics. they do not automatically display on landing, a feature I and others have requested, but if you press and hold the map knob(the one that controls scaling) when on the ground it brings up the taxi diagram for the airport you are on.

    Biennial Transponder Check

Agreed that we want a system with acceptable leak rates. Lleak checking biannually just because is unnecessary unless the static system plumbing is of poor quality. That is why I stated that best practice is to check whenever the system has been disturbed. Having done the 91.411 and .413...

    Biennial Transponder Check

The leak check only needs to be done if the system has been broken into. 91.411 applies to IFR only. Over the years some have thought that a leak check is required for all aircraft, but that is not reflected in any rule. It is good practice though to do a leak check if the system is broken...

    Biennial Transponder Check

if you are only doing the transponder check (91.413) and not the static system check for IFR (91.411), there is no need to run the static system up. If you are doing the static system check then as mentioned, make sure the system is in static system test mode. The static system check is only...

    Reverse knob direction

SW version 12 indicates in the chenge list, that one can reverse the direction of the knobs for the map/zoom function. I have searched both the Skyview Installation manual and the Operation Manual and this forum on how to do this to no avail. Can anyone point me how the knob direction can be...

    What else do I need?

You will need a Skyview network hub. The GPS 2020 and the Xpdr-261 will meet the ADS-B out requirements. If you want ADS-B in you will need the SV-472. I suggest you create a block diagram of the SV net and your components.

    Usefulness of KNOB and PANEL?

Actually no splitter is required. There are 2 Skyview network connections on each unit, just jumper from one to another. So disconnect one cable from the display and plug into one of the panels, jumper from one panel to the other, then back to the display.

    Wifi with multiple handheld devices

You should be able to. I fly with a friend and we run 2 iPads together. The neat thing is that you can pass flight plans between them.

Mode S "N" number not pinging. Says I'm Russian?

Maybe try updating the Skyview SW and, the transponder SW. these are done separately. Something might be out of synch.

Mode S "N" number not pinging. Says I'm Russian?

I did some research in the IFR 6000 manual. In your photo of the IFR6000, the AA value (shown as 17F9E0) is the decoded hex value. This is the hex value your transponder is transmitting. If that is not what is set in the transponder, then something is wrong with the transponder setup or...

Mode S "N" number not pinging. Says I'm Russian?

Flight ID is a separate piece of data than the registration (tail number). For example the airlines use their call and flight number rather the tail number with ATC, but the aircraft tail number is still sent out. For example N11US might have a flight ID of 531 which is the flight number. I...

    Glad you got it solved

    Bearing needle?...

To clarify terms, the needle that indicates left/ right is the CDI (course deviation indicator). The needle that the CDI is a part of, is the course needle. A bearing pointer is a separate pointer and 2 bearing pointers can be selected in addition to the bearing needle. You will need to have...
