    Sending Flight Plans to Skyview.

Have you tried a different iPad flight planning tool to do the transfer? I find it hard to believe it is a problem with the dongles. That said, they likely work in the 2.5 GHz spectrum, which can have issues with other devices in that area (Bluetooth, microwaves, etc.).

    Garmin v uAvionix

I see your point Steve but the law suit is based on ADS-B OUT and how the sender gets its signal from the transponder. Dynon doesn't use any uAvionics tech for their OUT solution(s). Also, it is UAT (978) out to which the suit pertains. None of this has anything to do with Dynon, IMO.

Problem performing initial backup battery test.

Actually, you can charge the backup battery with an appropriate battery charger. It needs to push the main battery past a certain point (12.1 volts, if I recall - it's in the manual) before the backup battery will start to charge.

Problem performing initial backup battery test.

Here is the verbiage from the install manual. Are you following these steps? 4. On the SkyView display that is being tested, during the 30 second power off countdown, press the TEST BAT button above button 8 (far right button) TEST BAT Button Appears After Removing Power to SkyView Display 5...

Using "IAS" for maintaining pitch in cruise flight

Sorry, no. That is the difference between 7.5 GPH or 8 GPH. Properly configured/tuned AP keeps it steady on altitude with very minor fluctuations to deal with up/down drafts, which it does well. I will admit, it took me a number of XC flights to nail the tuning. I have downloaded the logs but...

Using "IAS" for maintaining pitch in cruise flight

You should be able to tune it to handle the rising/falling air. Mine holds very well but I typically cruise at 155-160 KTAS.

Using "IAS" for maintaining pitch in cruise flight

I use IAS for climb to altitude but the AP automatically stops the climb at the altitude I program in for cruise. If adjustments do not correct your altitude excursions, I would look into a solution to correct the static pressure issue. Sometimes a small dam in front of the port helps stabilize...

    Overheating

I believe the unit will tell you the internal temperature. Yes, you may need better airflow for cooling. I have a 80MM computer fan mounted in mine but the bottom of the panel is completely open. No issues with over-heating.

    Loss of Radio Transmission

The clicking is normal when on dual receive. Mine does the same.

    Dynon AP connection to iPad

I suspect that even if you could connect to an iPad, FF does not have any output for AP control.

Using "IAS" for maintaining pitch in cruise flight

Exactly. Altitude is directly related to static pressure. If it is fluctuating, the AP will try to maintain the same static pressure by increasing or decreasing altitude. In IAS mode, static pressure is not in play.

    "Position Unknowm"

Data Point: I have the GPS-2020 installed in about the same place in my RV-7A and it has worked perfectly for the past 18 months. I also installed the older GPS as a backup. Both antennas are fed to/by each SV 1000T screen. My VHF antenna is under the co-pilot seat. Transponder is fwd of the...

    Auto Trim Question

The position sensor is independent of the auto-trim functionality. I have the AP-Panel (and love it) but did not connect the trim position sensor wires to anything. Works great!

Using "IAS" for maintaining pitch in cruise flight

Sounds like your static pressure may be fluctuating. You can try tweaking the pitch sensitivity and gain. Start with gain set low; increase sensitivity until happy. If that is not enough, lower sensitivity and increase gain slowly. As mentioned in other threads, gain is a multiplier of...

    D-180 Inaccurate Capacitive Fuel Levels

Mine is similar but mostly because, when I did the calibration, I was not expecting the "no or little change" warning, so I did not hit the button to move on and did another pour. Since then, I have improved things by checking the value for each tank prior to refueling and adjusting the...

    Strange radio problem

Have you tried a different headset? Something else to confirm is that the shield of shielded wires are grounded only on one end.

    Strange radio problem

No magnetos means no P-leads to worry about, Bill. Does the interference change with engine RPM above 1000? In other words, does it seem related to engine RPM? 1000 RPM is also likely to be when your alternator starts putting out more voltage. Can you isolate it from the system? Once you know...

    Strange radio problem

Bill, What kind of engine and ignition do you have? Are the plug wires shielded? Are the P-leads properly shielded?

    D180 strange readings

sounds like a plugged static line but the OAT is a separate issue. Try lightly blowing out the lines out with all gauges disconnected so you don't cause damage.
