    EGT fluctuation on D-180

Sounds like the builder needed a better crimper, ideally an AMP one (hugely expensive), but at least something like this: http://www.harborfreight.com/ratcheting-crimping-tool-97420.html and definitely not something like this: http://www.harborfreight.com/8-inch-four-way-crimping-tool-92410.html...

From your comments above I'd blame the kids. Period.

    D180 rebooting on climb out

Tony. I have an EMS D120 fitted (and a D100 to install this autumn). EMS worked OK to start with but then had random rebooting after a few hours. After a wander around this forum I found a suggestion to change the Oil Pressure sender. Figured it was worth a punt as the sender was a second hand...

    computer to D10A

Dynon sell a suitable 9 pin D-Sub serial to USB cable, and it includes the information on how to connect it, drivers etc. Not very cheap but reasonable, and with a very good chance it will work. I think the support program (backup, update, checklist setting, log recovery etc) is Windoze only.

    OAT network set up

If memory serves the D100 installation manual covers this. OAT ties to the bus master. BM has to be the D180 in your setup. You must have 2 remote compasses, one for each box. Put an OAT probe on the D100 one. OATs aren't very expensive and don't weigh much. The redundancy would be a good move...

    SuperBright Screen

Thanks for the reply. :) I'll take a look when I have to pull the unit next, probably when fitting the D100.

    D100 + AP74 withOUT servos.

Hmmm! Food for thought. AP74 :-/ HS34 Thanks for the reply.

    D100 + AP74 withOUT servos.

Re: D100 + AP74 withOUT servos: HS34 vs AP74 Jacques. I was just considering whether the HS34 might be a better option. Seeing as you've brought the subject up... Does the HS34 work with older NAV radios? I have a Narco Mk12D that I would be wanting to interface. I've read conflicting reports...

    D100 + AP74 withOUT servos.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Sounds like what I thought - the knob will work for EFIS things, but quite understandably the AP stuff won't work. I fully accept it is an unsupported configuration. Sounds like the worst that can happen is I will have to unplug the AP74 until I get the servos. It...

    D100 + AP74 withOUT servos.

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but here goes. Can you make use of an AP74 auto pilot interface unit with a D-100 EFIS WITHOUT any servos being fitted? Would it be 'a bad thing' for the AP74 / EFIS to be set up in this manner? Reading the blurb for the AP74 indicates that it can...

    SuperBright Screen

I bought my EMS D120 second hand. How can I find out if it has a 400 nits (regular / original) or 800 nits (SuperBright) screen?

    Fluctuating Manifold Pressure

I had this problem when I first installed the EMS D-120 late last year. Fixed it by turning myself a brass restrictor on my lathe and inserting it in the hose between the cylinder and MP sender. Put it in the cylinder end of the hose. OK - not earth shattering news in itself! You may be...

Using Garmin GPS III Pilot with D120 EMS

Discovered the GPS gets used by the EMS for something else: altitude. Without GPS the power figure and LOP / ROP wasn't displayed. It is now. No EFIS in my system. Yet. Ordered last week!

Using Garmin GPS III Pilot with D120 EMS

Sussed it out, in case anyone has been following this thread. :D I think that a GPS III's 'Aviation in' is just that - in only and not out! Set both GPS and D120 to NMEA and baud rate to 4800 and the time etc now gets set on the EMS so it must be working.

Using Garmin GPS III Pilot with D120 EMS

I thought the GPS was used in conjunction with the fuel flow for working out fuel consumption figures. That's why I connected it. I will check the baud and other settings again. Thanks.

Using Garmin GPS III Pilot with D120 EMS

I have looked around this and other forums but cannot find anything to say whether a Garmin GPS III Pilot will work with a D120 EMS. The GPS is my permanently installed backup in my panel, hence wanting to use it! It's an oldie but a goody!. I have connected the brown tx wire from the Garmin...
