EFIS D10A and EMS D10 Carb temp and OAT alarms

Interesting. Sounds like I might have an issue because the RV's OAT is connected to the EMS and I wasn't anticipating needing to put a dedicated OAT in to the EFIS when I fit it, but will do so if necessary. Does changing the OAT probe configuration from specifically OAT to a GP TEMP affect the...

EFIS D10A and EMS D10 Carb temp and OAT alarms

I would also be interested to know if it is possible to set an alarm on the Carb Temp. I think I looked into it when I installed the EMS but couldn't see an obvious way, but I may well have missed something as I didn't have carb temp displaying at all to start with. It is quite possible I was...

FlightDEK D180 EMS D120 data share

Doh! Should have thought of that - it's the basis of my RV's setup! ::)

FlightDEK D180 EMS D120 data share

Do you really mean you have a D180 on the left and a D120 on the right, DSABed together? :-? I don't think that is a supported configuration. I believe you can only have a single EMS device in a configuration. I guess you need to ditch the D120 and replace it with a D100 or D10A.

What kind of airplane are you flying?

The Long-Ez and Vari-Ez are not normally fully flyable from the rear seat (no pedals and cannot operate the nosewheel retraction) so probably no point in putting instruments there. A ballistic parachute on the other hand... ;)

    Autopilot GPS 296 connection failure

The 296 and the D120 are connected to the 'same' ground, aren't they. I know in theory there should only be one ground, but if the 2 connections are a long way apart could there be noise between them?

    D10 date defaults to 2000-01-01

Do you have a GPS connected? That's where many D10A installations get their time from. Failing that I think it's a matter of either connecting the keep alive line to a permanent supply, or using an internal backup battery. See page 3-3 if the D10A installation manual: Pin 2 : Keep Alive Power...

    Serial connectors

Having sausage-like fingers myself I'd agree that bigger is better, but... Just because there is a screwdriver slot there's no reason to go mad tightening up the screws. Over-tightening D-Sub screws can cause problems: - Stripping the tiny M3 threads. Sometimes they lock and won't come out...

    EFIS-D100 installation manual: AP74 connections

I have a question regarding the pin-outs for the AP74 specified in the EFIS D100 Installation manual. The diagram on page 6-3 shows the 'Voice Audio Output' of the AP74 being on pin 25 and connecting to the outer track of a 10K pot. On page 6-5 the main text states: Pin 25: Outer terminal of...

pass the setup by a d100 to another

From what it says above it sounds like you need to update the software to a newer version (currently 5.6.1) first.

    D1nn Series Log Files

Doh! Didn't look there. Hmmmmm! Seems a bit limited (e.g. no explanation of what the Type fields are), but I'll soldier on. My query was more out of curiosity really. The really important things like temps & pressures are reasonably obvious, once one realises they are recorded in US units...

    D1nn Series Log Files

I have downloaded the logs from my EMS D-120. A lot of the data is reasonably understandable after feeding it to Excel and another data crunching stats package that I use. The manuals seem to have a data layout for streaming data, but not one for the downloadable logs, unless I have missed it...

DYNON MUST STOP BETA TESTING ON ITS CUSTOMERS

Re: DYNON MUST STart charging ITS CUSTOMERS lots more! System backups are for other people, eh? I'm not up to speed on SV as I'm a D120 and soon to be D100 user, but I would guess that like the D series the SV does not have inexhaustible storage: when it reaches the capacity limit for the...

    D180 rebooting on climb out

I do agree with you, it was most unexpected. Nevertheless it was my experience, and that of somebody else on the forum. That was where I got the (frankly quite odd) idea that it might be the cause of my D120 rebooting problem. I have looked but I can't find the posting now! :-? 14.4V is about...

    D180 rebooting on climb out

Does seem odd, doesn't it? Have to admit I didn't test - just swapped out the sender. I was always skeptical of the condition of my original, second-hand sender. I would test by disconnecting it (and fuel pressure, if you have it) in your situation, though, seeing as it has been fine up to...
