    XPDR Caution

Leaving them off does go back decades and still applies to decade old hardware but modern avionics are built to handle power surges and sags without damage.

NEW: SkyView HDX - The Premier SkyView Experience

They've said previously that it will be the same cutout but different screw locations for the bottom two screws.

GPS 250 with 2020 and dual SV

I have one GPS-250 and one GPS-2020 (as noted in the title). Currently have only one Skyview 1000T so no danger at the moment. Planning to install the Skyview 10'' HDX if it is available before I am ready to fly in the next couple months.

GPS 250 with 2020 and dual SV

Excellent. I will leave as is. Each EFIS has its own fuse so losing one power source will not affect either GPS antenna.

    SV-COM and Strobe Pulses

How is your tail strobe ground configured? Some MFGs, like AeroLED, used to specify grounding the shielding at both ends. You may find that moving the ground closer to the light helps or moving it closer to the engine works better.

GPS 250 with 2020 and dual SV

Maybe I should have posted this in the EFIS Installation forum. Any thoughts, Dynon?

    GARMIN AERA 660

The Garmin documentation will tell you which wire is serial TX. Connect it to one of the 5 serial RX wires on the Dynon harness. The known devices and settings are at the following link. http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/GPS_Serial_Compatibility_and_Configuration_Settings

    SV-COM and Strobe Pulses

I'd suspect the shielding ground at the tail strobe is not quite right. Also, confirm that the shielding is not grounded at both ends. You might try moving the shield ground from the tail to the closest ground point near the battery. Since the SL-30 seems better, it might be antenna grounding...

    update a new skyview-

I know they are for the US. Not sure what costs are involved elsewhere - but good point. My assumption was possibly incorrect that he was US based.

True with newer Skyview versions (14?).

Help with SV-XPNDR-261 and ADSB out

Have you confirmed the GPS-2020 is configured as the data source for ADS-B out? The Skyview must have update 14.2 (I think) to support the GPS-2020 for a valid ADS-B output. Also ensure the transponder is up to date (independent of Skyview update) and configured for ADS-B out with appropriate...

    update a new skyview-

The Skyview now comes with maps, free of charge. You should be able to download them for free. For sectionals, the only option, as I understand it, is to purchase them from Seattle Avionics. Some people have issues with them downloading (slow) but others have the system figured out so downloads...

Switch to the non-touch Skyview? :D

    Serial connectors

Great idea, Jake. I happen to have some tubing in my toolbox gathering dust. Certainly not going to replace all the back-shells once Dynon starts using something with more purchase.

    Autopilot control panel trim controller

If you will only have the panel and pilot stick controls, I see no reason why you could not wire the stick into the co-pilot pins in the AP panel. And yes, they simply go to ground (same as the AP disconnect and PTT). Keep in mind that one will have priority over the other. Wired per your first...

    Serial connectors

This should be an easy one... Replace the connector thumb screws with something that the average person can grab with a thumb and finger. Those 1/8" screws are extremely difficult to spin due to their diameter and length. A screwdriver slot would not hurt either. One example here .

GPS 250 with 2020 and dual SV

I wired the two antennas together per page 8-14 wiring diagrams that show all wires for each antenna going to both screens. Today, while reading page 2-14, I noticed the following but see no mention of this in the referenced section below. Additionally, if there are both multiple displays and...

Something strange with fuel pressure sensor

Be sure you have the correct sensor selected. I had a similar issue with my oil pressure and found that I had selected a generic sensor rather than the specific Kavlico sensor.

NEW: SkyView HDX - The Premier SkyView Experience

Similar situation here. I have a SV 1000T already installed on the pilot side with a big square hole in the other that I want to fill soon - and anticipate flying in the next 3 months. I had originally planned to go with a non-touch SV but having played with the touch SV, I want it on both...
