You could also use a rotary potentiometer with an arm/pushrod, or gears, or belt/cogs. Pretty much any way you can get a potentiometer to interact with the desired control. And, yes, the more of the POT range you can utilize the better.

I haven’t seen where any weather receivers/sensors (radar, storm scope, etc.) excepts the ADS-B from the Dynon receiver are compatible with the displays.

Does the SV just pull the actual fixes from the navigator, or the “course?” What does the “list” view of the flight plan (not the map) show? I don’t know any answers, I’m just curious.

On page 11-26 of the Skyview installation manual it states that the Avidyne 400/500 series (as well as Garmin, Trig, and FreeFlight equivalents) do meet the ADS-B requirements and can be used for position/ADS-B source for the Skyview system.

Is yours in a certified installation? The “virtual DME” is not authorized in certified. Otherwise, there should be a setting to enable it.
