Ray Allen T3-12A trim actuator with Dynon HDX

If you already have it, you may as well install it. No sense keeping it as a shelf protector. Looks like a pretty easy install.

Ray Allen T3-12A trim actuator with Dynon HDX

SV can use up to 2A servos without the trim amp. The RAC servos lists 800mA at full-stall. So you should not need it. The trimamp does give runaway trim sensing and some other fault sensing. You should still have full auto-trim without it per the SV manual (assuming you have the trim...

    New Garmin GNC 215

Anybody have any new information about the 215 allowing frequencies to be pushed from the HDX?

PIREP on use of the TRIG TX-56A with SkyView?

Any updates to this? Looking at a Dynon certified and would like to be able to easily drop frequencies from the PFD to the radio. Nav1/COM1 is a GTN650, I would like the other radio (backup nav, probably primary com if this works) to play with the panel. Frogman208 said it didn’t work as...

Analog Trim Position in Skyview HDX

You could also use a rotary potentiometer with an arm/pushrod, or gears, or belt/cogs. Pretty much any way you can get a potentiometer to interact with the desired control. And, yes, the more of the POT range you can utilize the better.

Software updates ---Owner Op not allowed??

While I do agree that operating software/firmware updates on certified aircraft is not in the “owner/operator” realm, the rest of your statement is misleading. Please research the 2009 “Coleal letter” and response from the FAA. The FAA interpreted the “list” of preventive maintenance a pilot...

Software updates ---Owner Op not allowed??

Yes. The FARs do not specify who has to physically do any work. They specify who can return the aircraft/engine/appliance to service (by signing the logbook). You can do anything the A&P who signs the book is allowed to sign for, as long as he/she inspects your work and agrees it was properly...

    CWS button

Is there any chance the option for a separate CWS button on the yoke could be added to the feature set? The STC does not allow this (on the single disconnect button) but it would be great to include this feature to better match other autopilots. It should allow a temporary override of the...

    Dynon HDX "Direct To" procedure

Not really enough information in your post. This only works when the “navigation source” is the Skyview internal flight plan. According to the manual, you select a point through the various options (info, nrst, etc.) THEN press “direct” to get it to navigate there. This only works on the...

    Skyview PDF/Map at startup

I think that shows how to do what he is doing: selecting a layout AFTER boot.

    Skyview PDF/Map at startup

Check page 4-26 to 4-27 in the SV installation manual. Not sure if this does exactly what you want, but it’s the closest I can find.

Avidyne twx 670 compatibility with hdx 10

I haven’t seen where any weather receivers/sensors (radar, storm scope, etc.) excepts the ADS-B from the Dynon receiver are compatible with the displays.

    Procedure Turn Not Displaying

Does the SV just pull the actual fixes from the navigator, or the “course?” What does the “list” view of the flight plan (not the map) show? I don’t know any answers, I’m just curious.

    GPS for Dynon Transponder

On page 11-26 of the Skyview installation manual it states that the Avidyne 400/500 series (as well as Garmin, Trig, and FreeFlight equivalents) do meet the ADS-B requirements and can be used for position/ADS-B source for the Skyview system.

    Virtual DME

“Some third-party devices that are connected via the SV-ARINC-429 interface module do not decode identifiers, and thus SkyView cannot calculate Virtual-DME for those radios.” (4-22, manual version “N”) I can’t find anything that specifically says GTN/GNS won’t decode, nor AIRINC-429 is wholly...

    Virtual DME

Is yours in a certified installation? The “virtual DME” is not authorized in certified. Otherwise, there should be a setting to enable it.
